Never stayed at Royal Caribbean, but did stay at Sandals Dunn's River. It was great. The pool is awesome and the people of all ages and were so much fun.

Sorry to hear that your trip was cancelled, better that than to ride out the storm. We no longer book caribbean trips in the fall after Hurricane George interupted a two week trip to the T&C. We have stayed at both properties and both would be geat for a group trip. Sandals Negril was on a beautiful beach and a bit more lively than the Royal. The Royal has a small beach but the off-shore island makes up for it. The Royal staff seemed more personalbe to us, but it might be because the resort is smaller. We have stayed at Negril once and the Royal three times, so I guess that says which is our favorite. The Royal is just ten minutes from the airport which give us more beach time and it has a shuttle between the three Montego Bay properties. This opens up more dining and beach options. Good luck with your rebooking!

Have been to almost all of the Sandals Resorts and The Royal is our least favorite. The resort itself is beautiful. We thought the resort was a little stuffy, the staff a little rude. It's not an active resort, very low key. Negril is our favorite 2nd: St. Lucia, 3rd: Dunns River, 4th:Royal Bahamian 5th: MB and then Ocho Rios.
We are 45 & 47. Going to Sandals Whitehouse in Feb for 2 weeks.

Kimberly, we are also booked for Whitehouse in that time frame. We will be traveling with a group of friends (ages range from 37 to 60+}.
We hope it will be open...the first of our group is slated to arrive 2/16.
