Ok, the resort claims to be "all inclusive" did you find this to be true?

What types of activities are there to do on the resort/ off the resort?

Is there much need to leave the resort for anything or are there small shops on location?

Did you take advantage of the spa? If so, what are your thoughts on the facility?

Was your room upgraded? Can you tell me about your room? Was it spacious? AC? Jacuzzi?

How did the transfer from the airport go? Was there someone waiting for you with a sign or did you have to catch the transfer "at the curb"

Restaurants? Which ones did you try? Which ones are good and which ones should we stay away from?

Are you allowed to tip for service or is it highly frowned upon?

I have plenty more but don't want to take up too much of your time. You rhelp is greatly appreciated and as you might imagine, I want to make this the most incredible honeymoon, my fiancé could ever have expected.

The only thing I heard was the golf in included but you had to pay for a caddie. We didn't golf, so I really can't say if this is true. Otherwise I found it to be truly all inclusive

What types of activities are there to do on the resort/ off the resort?

There are water sports, but the red flag was up so many days these were not used much. The playmakers have games and such by the pool. There are numerous tours you can check out. we only did the ATV. It was okay...not enough time for the money in my opinion.

Is there much need to leave the resort for anything or are there small shops on location?

There is one small shop by the spa that you can barter for goods. Locals come on the resort once during the week to sell there goods. At the end of the beach there is Bagshaws a small shop. If you go there bring your camera as the view is excellent from the top deck.

Did you take advantage of the spa? If so, what are your thoughts on the facility?

We did not do any spa treatments, but others who did loved it.

Was your room upgraded? Can you tell me about your room? Was it spacious? AC? Jacuzzi?

We were upgraded to an oceanview luxe right off of the main pool area. The room was small, but no matter as we were not in it much (to sleep). It was handy to be near the pool, but if you want to hit the sack before 11PM it is hard as entertainment goes on in the Pavillion. This was not an issue for us as we were up most nights and if not we sat on our porch and enjoyed the music. The bar was a hop skip and a jump so we would trot over in our PJs for a drink now and then.

How did the transfer from the airport go? Was there someone waiting for you with a sign or did you have to catch the transfer "at the curb"

There will be a Sandals rep waiting. Very good transport system.

Restaurants? Which ones did you try? Which ones are good and which ones should we stay away from?

We tried then all. Kimmonos was by far the best. I didn't care for Armandos (my taste). I'd say give them all a shot!

Are you allowed to tip for service or is it highly frowned upon?

I wanted VERY badly to tip, but didn't as I understand the staff will be fired if they accept anything. You can bring gifts (men love sports team hats, perfumes and such for the ladies). You have to write a note if you give a tip so they can prove the stuff was given to them.

I have plenty more but don't want to take up too much of your time. You rhelp is greatly appreciated and as you might imagine, I want to make this the most incredible honeymoon, my fiancé could ever have expected.

Hi andrew, one thing that did surprise me a bit was if you are not booked in the concierge level, you cannot get bottled water, a can of pop or something for your room. You do have to buy these items at the gift shop.

The water is completely fine in St.Lucia so there is really no need to have bottled water. I just wanted a bottle to carry to the beach, etc., didn't think they would make me pay for it after all the $$$$ we already spent.
I didn't think that fountain pop, tap beer would be the only thing available for non concierge guests. I would have like a couple bottles or cans for the room. Oh well! Not a biggy for most!

Have fun!!!

To sassers or anyone,
Did they provide any info as to whether the beaches at their other resorts were red flagged? I had heard Grande had a better looking and also more protected beach???
Was lobster on the menus anywhere that you remember?
Did you try any of the attractions such as drive in volcano, natural waterfalls, sulphur springs?
We are a second marriage older couple who honeymooned in Antigua. We joined all the activities as silly as some were, and met great people. We never left the resort, but this time I think there might be some neat things we should not miss. But it's hard to tear my husband away from the swimming and lounging with our books, and, oh yes, our drinks. Andrew, enjoy all Sandals has to offer. It can be as private and romantic as you want it to be, but also very lively as well. One perhaps silly tip ...they provide shampoo with conditioner mixed in, but the sun was so drying I needed regular conditioner which was expensive at the gift shop. They provide a small bottle of hand lotion and one of aloe vera gel, and a shower gel. The shampoo with conditioner was barely enough for 2 people for one week. When I asked for another at the front desk, they were reluctant to give it to me.We were on a two week honeymoon so I explained that if I checked out and then back in for the second week, I would automatically get another one, they then gave it to me. I was surprised since we were spending so much. (This was in Sandals Antigua) We discreetly tipped cash to our maid and our fav bartender.

Thanks guys for all your help. I dont know if anything particular stood out or if there was something you wish you knew before you went to the resort, but anything that you think e might need to know about before the trip would be most helpful. Ill take all the infor (good or bad) youve got.

I agree Andrew that all the tips before hand are helpful. I will be back before you leave so I will let you know. Basic needs such as sun lotion and film is overpriced at the shops so bring enough from home. There are wonderful photos to be taken on little bridges and among the flowers. Also you can have a photographer take your pic at sunset on the beach or at anytime anywhere, free. Then you go preview the shots and buy what you want or none at all for about $5 a 5X7 or get the whole CD to print at home. They have some theme parties which are fun. If you bring a bandanna to wrap around your head you will fit in on pirate night, or you can dress even more elaborately. You get points enerytime you participate in costume or in a game, towards winning silly leather necklaces or tee shirts. They were stingy with the points though, but you are given points just for playing. If you participate on talent night you get big points. Just telling a joke qualifies, and few have real talent. They just want you to participate so it's not all staff. I bought a 14 CT gold charm that looks like a pair of sandals...for my charm bracelet, a nice memento of our honeymoon and all the fun we had. I am expecting St Lucia to be as much fun as Antigua.
Another tip, you can order as much food as you want. If you want 2 or even 3 appetizers, or 2 entrees, you can order it. There was this one man there who ate in one restaurant and then went to a second one. He also had the upstairs one send an entree down to the other one to add to what he was having there. We never ordered that much, but I did order a double portion of skewered shrimp several times.

Hi again. Because some of you have reported that the Regency beach could be rough, I was wondering if there was a need for "water shoes." (You know those ugly rubber things we need on the rocky beaches in CT !!!!!
Also was there any need for a warm sweatshirt or windbreaker>
I hate to pack anything I don't need.

I did not notice lobster on any menu...they did have shrimp and fish dishes. At resorts we have been to in the past you can pay 10 dollars extra and get some tails, but we did not ask here....could be worth a try. The only tour we did was the ATV...it was okay....could have been longer for the money. I do not feeel you need water shoes as the ocean is choppy but not rocky. We definately did NOT need a sweatshirt or wondbreaker while we were there. All customers get a gift pack which includes: aloe, body wash, separate hair conditioners and shampoo.
