sailing the Abacos

We will be sailing a 50 foot cat in May 2018 with a crew. Wondering about the water and how rough it can get? We said BVI back in March and the water got a little rough that we docked a couple nights and moored in quiet bays the rest because 3 people got sea sick. How does the Abacos compare to BVI?

Did this with my late husband and another couple many years ago, but we did a bareboat charter, not crewed. It is mostly piloting rather than sailing, we spent lots of time watching our depth finder. There was only one place at the time where you go outside the reef and that is going to Green Turtle Cay IIRC. We had two days of rain (November) and the water was a bit too rough at the reef opening so the boat charter company would not give us permission to travel there..
We had a terrific time otherwise.
