Royal Plantation or Half Moon

I am looking for a luxury resort with great food choices. (We are New Yorkers with high standards). We loved Royal Hideaway in Mexico (our first all inclusive) and want a similar experience for this vacation. Looking at early April. Will take other destination/hotel suggestions. Thanks!!

You'll get more feedback if you confine your questions about these properties to one thread. It gets too confusing otherwise.

I've never been to Jamaica or stayed at either property, but look at Luxurylink.com as Royal Plantation is frequently available via auction.

Thank you! I posted it twice because I thought it would be better to have the hotel names in the subject. I will look at the link you sent!

I'll become a bore talking about the Half Moon in Mobay. Read my other posts containing my rave revues for my Jamaican home away from home.

I thought I'd post again to tell you about the wonderful food at the Half Moon. Best gazpacho I've ever tasted. Breakfast on the SeaGrape is buffet or a la carte. I ate everything Jamaican, ackee and saltfish, calilou{sp?} fresh mango. My husband enjoyed omelettes prepared to taste. Lunchtime, we might have room service which has a broad menu and comes quickly or back to the terrace for a fresh salad, jerk chicken, oxtail{try it} soup, and more. In the Italian restaurant, Il Giardini, you will meet Andrea, a young innovative chef from a small town in Italy who first learned to cook making gnocchi with his "nonna." The Sugar Mill is also on property and is wonderful. I am not familiar with the other property you mentioned, but I can't imagine better food anywhere. Like everything in life, it's all subjective, but this is my opionion. Have a wonderful trip .

I can't resist, junebride. We just booked to return to Halmoon for our fourth visit. Each one gets better. They've recently added A Good Life package which on top of all the wonderful food & drinks. includes a Swedish massage for two How good can it get? Their rates drop April 16 if I'm not mistaken. I know you will love Jamaica, whichever place you choose.
