RIU Resorts
which of the three RIU resorts in Jamaica might be better for college students spring break? Are all three similar, except for different terrains and features perhaps, and are the beaches about the same?

The RIU's are a low budget resort chain. I have stayed at the RIU Tropical Bay in Negril before it was adult's only. The 2nd worse AI resort I have ever been to, and I have been to many. The restaurant reservation system is horrid and the food not that great. If you don't have high expectations and need something low budget, it will work.

Riu Ocho Rios - short drive from the airport to max out your Beach time. Go to the Hip Strip at night. Be sure to go to Margaritaville...nothing to compare it to in the US. be ready for 1. hard beds, 2. buffet, buffet, buffet, 3. sucky reservation system for other restaurants..so, 4. more buffet. But, hey, you're in college, it's spring break..good luck. Bring your own big cup - saves on trips to the swim-up pool bar.
