We were there last month. Our favorites were: for dinner-Le Gaiac at Hotel Le Toiny; La Mandala overlooking Gustavia; Eden Roc; La Gloriette. (one of our favorites Adam Vincent was closed) Of course Mayas is also tops. For lunches: Le Tamarin at Saline; BouBous; La Saladerie in gustavia.
You can't go wrong anywhere. Even the takeout places are top notch.

Noach, have you been there? Is that truly how you feel? Have you been to St. Martin? How does the food and cost compare?

John, thanks for the recommendations. What would you say the average dinner for 2 was with wine and tip in the places you mentioned? Are some more expensive than others?

Thanks to both of you.
Jeff

Jeff,
It has been about 3-4 years since we were in SBH but our favorite bar/people watching place is Le Select - great burgers! On our 1st trip we ate out for lunch rather than dinner and it was much easier on our budget. We would go to a beach in the morning, then stop for lunch around 1pm on the way home, for dinner we had bread, cheese, wine and chicken/salads from a deli. A great way to save some money but still eat well! Our 2nd trip we ate dinner out mostly and enjoyed La Langouste, La Saladerie and Eddy's. Most SBH restaurants post their menu outside so that you can see your choices and prices. Dining out on St Barts is such a pleasure - have fun!!
Jamie

We just got back from our honeymoon on St. Barts. We loved BouBous for lunch. Awesome food! In my opinion, Mayas was not all that great- just so-so. We loved La Langouste, near our hotel on Flamands Bay. Our hotel's restaurant was excellent at Hotel Isle de France. The food on the island is unbelievable- french cuisine. An average dinner, getting off moderately is around $100. Le Pelican was a cool place for afternoon drink or lunch- at St. Jean's. Have fun! It's a wonderful place- we didn't want to leave.
