Where should we go for the best restaurants in Grand Cayman? Thanks for your info!

We ate at The Wharf which is great outside dining. We went early and sat beside the water and watched the sun set. The other restaurant we ate at was called Casnova's I think. It's Italian. Very nice and quiet too.

I have not found a bad restaurant yet. Both of the restaurants listed by the previous poster are good. Also the Lobster Pot (which is owned by the same as the Wharf), The Almond Tree, Hemmingways at the Hyatt, The Grand Ole House, Lantana's. I had excellent food at all of these. I would recommend you made a reservation if you are going for an evening meal. I also ate lunch at the Cracked Conch. It was good also. One of the most talked about foods in Cayman is the Conch Fritters. I don't care for them, but almost every restaurant offers them. <BR> <BR>When are you going? Try Casa Havana at the Westin, Maxin's downtown Georgetown, also Smugglers Cove downtown and Pappagallos is north of 7 mile beach. Sunday champagne brunch at the Westin, Lone Star for Tex mex, Eats (across from Westin) for inexpensive breakfast or lunch. Have a great time!

Away from SMB, the restaurant at Rum Point is nice after an afternoon in their hammocks. The Edge in Boddentown is a laid back alternative -- get a table by a window if there are none outdoors --- gets very hot. The Lighthouse at Breakers has interesting Indian dishes & good lobster. We did not care for Durty Reid's. <BR> <BR>Georgetown/SMB area: I am disappointed to learn that the Almond Tree has been sold recently & tho still operating under the same name, is not as good & more expensive. Too bad. It was our favorite place on the island. <BR> <BR>Paradise Cafe has decent (not great) burgers, good view. Tortuga Cafe always excellent & great desserts (if you have room --- portions are large). Hook's Grotto at Treasure Island has a killer breakfast buffet. We are Texans & did not think Lone Star was a good representation of Tex Mex any of the several visits --- kept trying different dishes since so many recommend it, but it's appeal was lost on us. It's ok but we Dn't go back except for the lobster special. <BR> <BR>We were also disappointed in the Cracked Conch. <BR> <BR>Whatever you do, don't plan to eat at the restaurant at the airport. Ungodly prices, even for Cayman. <BR>

There are many good restaurants in Grand Cayman, but if you dont mind spending money for awsome dining experiences, the following restaurants are a must. The Wharf is wonderful, excellent service and great food, outside seeting is a must especially at sunset. The Lobster Pot is very nice also, although not much for luxury but great food. Captain Hook's is an absolute must, there is a piano player on friday nights. And my favorite, although bring a loaded wallet, is Ottmar's, absolutely AWSOME!!!! <BR>BON APPETITE

We enjoyed The Treehouse for lunch--the patio has a great view. Excellent conch fritters, although the service is a little slow. A great, casual place to relax w/ a Sting Ray beer. They also have two parrots that live in a tree next to the patio. I believe they are affiliated with The Almond Tree, which is much fancier.

All the prvious posts have missed the boat. The Reef Grill at The Royal Palms. Great! Great !Food. LIve Music. It's what the tropics are about. <BR>Check it out

Just found this forum - went to Grand Cayman for the first <BR>time last December. Loved it! Ate at the Lobster Pot the <BR>first night. Then discovered Eats Cafe - directly across the road <BR>from the Westin Resort - and oh, what a find! Great food - <BR>burgers alone will keep you coming back for lunch - and <BR>best Mahi I've ever eaten one night for dinner. After finding <BR>Eats, we stopped eating anywhere else. Less than half the <BR>price of the Lobster Pot, and we liked the food better.
