RAINY DAY IN PUERTO RICO

My wife & I will be in Dorado PR in mid-February. What are some things to do, if it rains a day or 2? Thanks

Take lots of books...last time we were in PR it rained all day every day. The locals tell me that when it's cold up here, it's raining down there. Come to think of it, I've been to PR 4 or 5 times and it's rained every time!

hey Carib Traveller, I'm not trying to be a wise guy,but why would you go to PR, 4 or 5 times, knowing that it's going to rain?
Post # 1;; I usually honeymoon at night, but that will be one of the things on my rainy DAY list. Thanks, but I still need more suggestions.

I assume you will be staying at one of the hotels. Unless the hotel organizes some activity there is very little that can be done other than reading or watching TV.
Hi ejc! I'm sure you can ask the concierge at your resort for suggestions. Here are some indoor options outside of Dorado.

You could visit the new Art Museum in San Juan (it's in the December issues of Travel and Leisure). The new museum has a great restaurant on-site too, so you can have a nice lunch there.

You could also take a tour of La Fortaleza, an old palace in Old San Juan that has been the Governor's house for many years. You do need reservations because only certain areas are open to the public.

Another option is to visit the Bacardi factory. The tour is mostly indoors or on a covered trolley.

The town of Ponce is in the southern part of the island, and it is arather arid part. Sometimes when it rains in the north it is clear in the south. In Ponce, you could visit the Castillo Serralles -the beautiful, historical mansion of the family that makes Don Q rum. Ponce also has an art museum. It has lots of European art (like a Madonna from Rafael). It's most famous painting is "Flaming June."

Of course, you could also go shopping or go to the movies. Besides the huge Las Americas mall, there are two big outlet malls. One of them is about 20 minutes from Dorado, just off the highway, in Barceloneta.

Oh, and don't worry too much about rain - February, March and April are very dry months.

IN THE SOUTH OF PUERTO RICO ALMOST NEVER RAINS...IN THE NORTH IT RAIN ALMOST EVERY DAY SO IT JUST DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU PLAN ON STAYING
