Hi Jill. You're just the person I'm looking for. We're wanting to go to St. Martin/St. Maartin and island hop to the other islands nearby.
Are all trips by ferry? How long do they take? Should we stay on the St. Martin side as opposed to the other? Thanks!!

Jill,
Planning a romantic 25 th anniversary to St. Martin for July 2002. Looking for a place or places with nice beaches and the chance to get lost in the island experience. Night life nice not a must. What are the adjacent islands worth the hop.
thanks kmac

If you want to island hop, St. Martin is the place to make as your base. Definately do not miss Anguilla. It is very slow paced and safe, with the most beautiful beaches. It can be very expensive but does not have to be. Take a couple of nights, and stay at the Anguilla Great House on Rondevouz Bay. !/2 mile 1/2 moon shaped beach to itself.
Take a rental to Shoal Bay beach on the north side. It's outstanding and not packed.
Ferries run from Margot daily. Also, on St. Martin, try a night or two in Grand Case. It's very nice, and away from the bustle of Phillipsburg.
Saba is an hour ferry ride to the south, and St. Bart's, St. Kitt's and Nevis are short plane rides away.
