Have been to St. John and Grand Cayman, not Bermuda. I would pick Grand Cayman based on your criteria.

I love St. John, but it does not have great shopping. It does have beautiful beaches, fantastic snorkling and plenty of good restaurants.

Also, there are only two resort hotels on STJ. This island has mostly villa rentals with a few in between options.

Bermuda is nice, but remember, not hot all year round like the other two...

Depends on when you are going, but GC seems like the best choice for your requirements.

I've been to Burmuda and Caymans and I think the Cayman Islands is a great place for kids. 7 mile beach is wonderful, with clam waters and perfect for walking.

You may want to condsider renting a condo so that you'll have kitchen facilities.

I have been to all three islands. All three are quite safe IMO.Of the three Bermuda has the best restaurants, but all three offer plenty of good options. I don't think the shopping is all that great on any of them. If you stayed on St. John, which I love, you could slip over to St. Thomas for a day, shop to your heart's content, and come back. Both of the big hotels on St. John are very high end. A fun experience there with a kid would be Malo Beach eco resort. Grand Cayman has lovely beaches and some fun activities, snorkeling with the rays for example. Bermuda has an aquarium, great beaches (ocean swimming is generally a May to October activity). There are some big hotels (Elbow Beach, Fairmont Southhampton) with kid programs. St. John is the least crowded and least developed of the three.
