Definitely go and get started on your Hepatitis C vaccines before your trip. These protect you against the strain of the virus that is transmitted by improper food handling. The US State Department recommends them for anyone traveling to the region.

<BR>I used to get terribly ill on company sponsored trips to Mexico. I'm expected not only to attend, but to participate & enjoy, so I asked my m.d. for help. He prescribes Bactrim to take for 4-5 days before leaving & for 4-5 days during the stay. No problems on the last 5 trips. I still drink bottled water & eat only at the nicer restaurants & hotels.

We have been to the D.R. four times and will be going back in February..the best hint..is do not load up on fresh fruit..especially pinapple..which does cause runs.. I don't drink water, but would drink the bottled... It's not a joke, but ha ve been getting sick for years from plane fying.. and I now take Biaxin just before flying home...it/'s the recycled air on the plane.. and after 10 years of tryng to figure out why I got sick with bronchitis after going anywhere it dawned on me..Oh yes...we are going to the Catalonia Bavarp
