snorkeling-from-the-beach locations.

Question #2: How is the snorkeling on St. Barts?

Thanks

St. Lucia has some great snorkeling from the beach--right off the beach from Ti Kaye, Anse Chastenet, and Jalousie resorts.

- Coral Gardens, Providenciales, Turks & Caicos

- Brewer's Bay, Tortola, BVI

- Rendezvous Caye, Belize

- Sandy Island, Carriacou (Grenada)

- Tobago Cays, St. Vincent and the Grenadines

(Granted, you may need a boat to get to some of these beaches, but the snorkeling is simply wade-in and go).

Sapphire Beach, St. Thomas...Best overall beach and snorkeling in our opinion over 5 other Carribean locations we have visited.

Grand Cayman has a great selection of shore snorkeling. And Seven Mile beach is beautiful. We found the clarity & abundance of fish there to be the best we have found so far. St John is next on our list...

Since no one has answered the second part of your posting, I'll attempt to. Off the beach snorkelling in St. Barts wasn't that good. Tried it off Gouverneur, Saline and St. Jean and while I saw some fish it wasn't anything spectacular. Better to take an off shore excursion with the many operations to be found there.
