If you change your mind about Belize...I suggest Roatan in the Honduran Bay Islands. I think it has everything your looking for- the population speaks English, fabulous snorkeling, friendly folks, decent food, and it can be quite affordable. I went there last year, right after 9/11 to decompress and it was the best week of my life! e-mail me if you want any more info. I love Roatan!

Greetings Owen,<BR><BR>Did you see the NY Times Sunday travel section? I'm leaving Monday for my second trip to Dominica. It's very much like the place you describe... I know you've settled on Belize this trip, but do keep it in mind. I haven't been to Belize yet, but have been to Bequia and Tobago...more fine choices. Happy travels!<BR><BR>http://content.communities.msn.com/DimitriSokolenko/PhotoAlbum<BR><BR>http://www.delphis.dm/home.htm<BR><BR>http://www.ndcdominica.dm/index.htm

All these great suggestions have me already planning the next trip! have already purchased tix for Belize so this one is a definite. If I have a female companion for the next trip (you never know... it could happen when I least expect it!) I will probably want to go a notch or two up in lodging quality and may want more in the way of fine dining options. Will wait to do the research on that - continuing thanks to all. I'm sure this is going to be a great trip - count on seeing a trip report here in early June!

Owen,<BR><BR>I have only stayed at Windy Hills near San Ignacio and am not really "up to date" on other places to stay in Cayo. I'm sure someone on the Belize forum can help you find a place or try posting in the Latin America section of this forum. Hope you enjoy Belize as much as we did!
