I can't imagine a nicer place than Peter Island to honeymoon. We stayed at Peter Island Resort a couple of years ago. It's a luxurious but low keyed resort. The whole island is low keyed and a preferred spot for boat people. There are lovely secluded beaches -- perfect spots for those on honeymoon.
There is boat service to Tortola on a regular basis. If you like you can also take a boat over to St. John -- unique among the USVI's in that about a half is US National Park or St. Thomas -- to see the wild eyed tourists off the cruise ships.
But hey, you may not want to go anywhere after you experience Peter Isand.

only problem is that late october brings you pretty close to peak hurricane time so you do want to get some kind of trip interruption insurance. It is a lovely spot and I would definitely recommend beachfront accomodations. However, it is my understanding that the beachfront units will be closed, sometime starting in August, for a redo. Given Caribb Time and the fact that things often take a lot longer than expected, you might want to check carefully to see if they are available if that's what you want. YOu will definitely want to have the picnic lunch delivered to White Bay - it is wonderful!

We have booked Peter Island for December. Was planning for October but had to reschedule due to the rooms being remodeled (beachfront). We are doing the ashore/afloat and getting married there. So I hope it will be good. I have read books that speak very highly of it.
