Peter Bay Beach Question

thinking about renting Peter Bay Beach villa on Peter Bay Beach, St. John. Is anyone familiar with this beach area? It looks incredible in the villa booklet and says it's situation within the National Park. Can anyone tell me how far away this might be from restaurants, etc. on the island? We've rented villas before and they're usually far removed from most activities (which is fine), just curious about this particular stretch of area/beach. Any feedback/knowledge greatly appreciated!

Peter bay is the only gated community in St John with exquisite homes and priced accordingly. Its where the rich and famous have homes on St John.Peter bay itself is a nice calm bay with beautiful views of other islands. It is also a great location on the North shore of the island...where the best beaches are. It's the next bay down from famous Trunk bay which has a underwater snorkeling trail.

I would say that it is probably a 10 minute drive to restaurants and Cruz Bay (where everything is).In my opinion..it is a wonderful location for the best beaches and restaurants.Other close by good beaches are Cinnamon bay(next beach heading North),Hawksnest bay,Jumbie bay,Maho bay,Francis bay.If you like to snorkel..I have heard that Waterlemon cay which is in Leinster bay is very good snorkeling..we never made it there as it is a bit of a hike and we had our kids with us.It is near Annaberg Suger Mill ruins..which is located in the dead center of the North shore.I hope this helps.Have a great time. With any luck..you might see a Celebrity

If you're lucky or well-heeled enough to stay on Peter Bay, go for it. It is a very exclusive community as my friend Christie has stated above. The beach itself is private of course, and not very big. The Peter Bay development is split into 2 sections, Lower and Upper. Lower is situated on cliffs above the beach and Upper is up on the hill across the street. The appointments in either are world-class. To get down to the beach there are some stairways that get you down to the beach. Spectacular... in a single word.

thanks SO much for all the information on Peter Bay. I'm thrilled to know it's actually as beautiful as advertised! We only visited St. John briefly on our last USVI trip but it somehow captured my heart. I've been trying to plan a return trip ever since. Sounds like we can't go wrong with this villa (however, i can do without celebrities . Thanks again for the info!

I wholeheartedly agree! Most homes in the Peter Bay community are truly beautiful. We visited a friend that has a large home there and the views (and house) were breathtaking.
