Peachandquiet Hotel
We are planning a trip to Barbados in Febreuary and noticed Fodors liked the Peachandquiet facility in Christ Church. Has anyone stayed there? There apparently is no air conditioning, and I was also wondering if that might be a problem - night temperatures below 80 degrees are fine with us. Thanks, Ken.

We have stayed there a couple of times for overnight lodging only. We were there last in 2004, I believe. I would not want to stay there for a vacation as there is no sandy beach -- has a rocky front which is pretty but we prefer to get into the water. Also, the lodging was really tired when we were there both times. The rooms are average and the bathroom is very tiny which is fine for overnight. No a/c didn't bother us since there was a little breeze coming through the windows. Lovely British lady was running it before and was very helpful with our taxis and such.
If you desire a tropical beach location, you will want to look elsewhere.

Hi there, I am also planning a trip to Barbados, in December of 2006, for a few days prior to getting on a cruise ship. I came across Peach and Quiet, and a great place to check traveler reviews for ANYWHERE is Travel Advisor. Just search it, put in Peach & Quiet Barbados, and look at the reviews. Very positive. I have booked myself in there for four nights....at a third of the price it was going to cost me to stay at the Hilton in Bridgetown. Not as "fancy" a resort.....but I think it will suit me just fine.

Thank you both - I recieved an email response on availability, and it turns out they are booked 2-3 years in advance for February - which is our only option at this time. We will try to swing by the hotel when we are in Barbados, to see for ourselves.

You might want to look into Coral Sands in Worthing, Christ Church Parish. Very nice accomodations and lovely beach. Not touristy. About a 15 min walk to St Lawrence Gap where there are some excellent restaurants. The units are suites with kitchen facilities. Believe the web site is www.coralsandsresort.com.

I have booked Peach & Quiet for March 07, I assume if they are booked 2-3 years in advance the place can't be too bad. I know the beach is not known to be the best in front of the hotel But I understand you can walk just a short way down to a lovely beach. If anyone has any info on this hotel good or bad, I would appreciate hearing it.

lots of reviews for P&Q on www.tripadvisor.com. Personally, I love this place.
Pros to some are cons to others - I love the fact that there are no kids, no canned music, no drinks with umbrellas (honour bar instead), no internet, no in-room phones, TV or AC.
The pretty pool and snorkelling lagoon more than make up for the absence of sandy beach. The management is great and the food delicious and reasonably priced.
Enjoy your stay

Heading back to P&Q for the 4th time in November. It is definitely not your average resort and certainly not for everyone but we fell in love with it the first time we went in 2002. It is now our favourite get away for complete R&R. I wrote one of the glowing reviews on TA so what more can I say. It was an undiscovered gem that folks are catching on to. This place has truly been a labour of love for Margaret and Adrian, the owners, and it shows. curiousx summed it up beautifully, very out of the ordinary.
