Opinions wanted on Turks & Caicos

Need your opinions - My friend and I (two young females) are interested in Turks & Caicos. We have heard the beaches are second to none. The resort we seem to be leaning towards is the Allegro. We would love to hear your opinions if you've stayed there, pros, cons and everything in between. Thanks in advance.

I have been to Provo (Turks and Caicos) about 6 times and I have never failed to have a great time. The beaches really are excellent but be prepared -NOT a lot of shade (good suntan lotion and a hat are essential.)The main beach Grace Bay (on which the Allegro and most of the other resorts are located) is at least 10 kilometres long and therefore is NEVER overcrowded - too many people in front of your resort - walk down the beach for 5 minutes and it will be all yours. The water is gorgeous and clear. Good snorkeling at "the white house"/Coral Gardens about a 20-25 minute walk from the Allegro or a 5 minute cab ride (all cab drivers know where it is). The island is very safe - we walked along the beach at all hours of the day and night.
I cannot tell you a lot about the Allegro (I stayed there several years ago before it became the Allegro). It is in a decent location (Ports of Call shopping mall (small but a couple of decent restaurants) is just across the road. If you love beaches and swimming/snorkeling you will enjoy yourselves.

I stayed at the Allegro. I thought it was great. It was all inclusive including top shelf liquors, but lousy beer; free use of sail boats, kayaks; pretty corny evening entertainment, a small casino; food was decent. The beach was beautiful, but short on beach umbrellas. It had a very nice pool, but it also was short on umbrellas and I made sure I got out there early in the day to get one.

I remember alot of kids. There really is nothing else on the Island; I left the resort only once to go on a conch expedition. There was a dance club across the street, but I never went there. Other than that club, I don't think there was much of a night life.

Shark Bite Cafe has some stuff going on a couple nights a week, but you'll have to check once you get there to see which nights. There isn't a lot to do there. It's very peaceful and relaxing and ooooh I wanna go back....

Any one know about how the weather is during late Sept and early October? Is there a lot of rain?
