Negril
I'm curious about anyone who's been to Jamaica lately. Specifically out to Negril. I've only stayed out to the Cliffs but those trips were ages ago and spread apart (70's, 80's 00's). Tensing Pen and Catcha Falling Star are the two dream places I've visited, staying at Le Mirage which was super nice, a bit less expensive, and close to a group of friends at Tensing Pen. I only saw after my stay online that it was a clothing-optional hotel (did not see anything like that!)
Guess this post is just asking about if anyone on Fodor's has happened out that way lately. Or if you need a honeymoon spot... check out Tensing Pen
it's pretty spectacular but also welcoming.

I've never been to Jamaica but someday..i would love to go. I always wanted to go to Negril....
I had read a lot before the storm and it seemed like the south coast was very appealing, for me, also..... I liked the look and feel of a place named Jake's...Traesure Beach is the location. I read that it's a hangout for locals as well as visitors to the island...who knows if that's true but sounded interesting. I'd travel alone, as you do, Suze and not sure about how comfortable I'd be. I know Negril would be fine but not sure about St. Elizabeth's Parish and that area.....
Have you heard of the hotel, or the area of the island that it's on, Suze? It's a two-hour drive from Montego Bay Airport.
Anyone else familiar with Jamaica know this part of the island?

The area got hit hard by Melissa so not sure what the current situation is.......but my own trip would not be before 2027, so..
I hope you get responses...

I only know Negril. If/when I return to Jamaica I'd go back to Negril in a heart-beat. Honestly no interest in the rest of the island for myself especially solo nothing I'd try. And full-disclosure, in Jamaica I've traveled mostly with friends. Two different trips many moons ago with two different boyfriends at those time. Most recently but even that was 10 years ago now was a reunion of long-time friends that I was invited to. I was solo 5 days, then with a group of couples 5 days. Each of these three trips stayed on The Cliffs.
