To us, picking our cabin category has alot to do with which cruise we pick-the amount of days at sea and which line. Princess' newer ships have the most beautiful rooms with balcanoys, it really is worth spending a little more to make sure you reserve one. On long voyages, you just can't run all of the time, but you still don't want to miss the sights. You can lie on your bed or sit and relax and watch glaciers, mountains, islands, you never miss a thing. We absolutely adore RCCL, but they have some of the smaller rooms, we feel. I window is a must so that your room appears larger than it really is. Their ships, staff, food, and entertainment can't compare to some of the lesser expensive lines. First time cruisers we've visited with usually pick Carnival because it is the cheapest. Alot of people judge cruises by the Carnival lines. they shouldn't. The difference if I may quote from another message on this site, is the difference between hamburger and steak. If you've never had steak you think hamburger is great. If you really want to experience a first rate cruise it's RCCL or Princess or Celebrity, thry're all wonderful.
