Need some destination help...
I'm planning on traveling with my girlfriend during the middle of March '01 for about 4-5 nights and am still in search of a destination in the Caribbean.

- We're not budget travelers, but by no means do we want to break the bank (we're looking to spend $600-$1000 per person w/ air/hotel included).

- My girlfriend and I are both in our early 20s, but that being said, we do not want Spring Break destinations, i.e., we're not interested in Cancun, Bahamas, Negril...etc. Been there, done that.

- We're pretty indifferent as to condo versus hotel.

- Both of us enjoy nice beaches, snorkeling, and other watersports, so the hotel/condo should be on or close to a nice beach.

- I hadn't planned on renting a car, so somewhere where most everything is close by (or where taxis are cheap) would be a plus.

- A night or two at a nice restaurant would be great, but we don't plan on making every night a big deal. We're more than happy go to a grocery store and do dinner in the room or go to a small restaurant for dinner one or two nights.

- I mentioned no "spring break" destinations but, there has to be stuff to do at night. Bars, music, maybe a club would all be great.

Guess that's it...any help would be greatly appreciated!

Eric

Eric: Try Aruba. You can usually get some good rates by shopping for a package deal either through an airline or travel group. There are many hotels within walking distance of what you're looking for, not to mention right on the beach. Quite a bit to do if you're looking for activity. Your timing is at the end of the busy season so you might find a bargain! Good luck.
