We were married end of August last year and wanted to go to the carribean on our honeymoon. Be cautious in where you decide to go as it is hurricane season. We chose Grenada as it is very far south and pretty much out of the hurricane belt, Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao are completely out of the hurricane belt.
We loved Grenada--not very built up, some great beaches, and good hiking opportunities. September is the off-off season there, which is great in that there are few people, but some things are not open then either. Feel free to e-mail me if you have ?'s about Grenada.

First what kind of vacation are you looking for and what kind of activities, and atmosphere are you looking for.

Each island in the carribean is very different and each has a different flavor. There's all kinds of water sports, great snorkling and diving or just laying around on a georgeous beach.

If you can tell us what you are looking for the board may be of alot more help.

tweedy
If you are interested in St. Lucia......we went there last early Sept. for our honeymoon (Sandals Halcyon) and had the time of our lives. Very romantic, lots to do, lots of relaxing, terrific food and drinks, wonderful staff. The island itself is amazingly beautiful, very lush and 'tropical' - exotic if you ask me!
If you would like more info on the island or on the resort we stayed (Sandals Halcyon Beach Resort - $4000 can. dollars total all inclusive 5star) just email me direct and I'll provide you my trip report (pretty detailed). Sounds like you are marrying the same exact time we did (Sept.12 for us) and St. Lucia was the perfect escape after a perfect wedding...........etc........

email is: [email protected]

I have the perfect place for you (except the Hurrican thing). Grand Cayman is the way to go if you like fantastic beach, water, food, service, and nothing to interfere with what is really important on your honeymoon. There are no sites to see- which is good for a honeymoon. You can either relax at the hotel on the beach and be served food and drink, or you can go swimming, snorkeling, or SCUBA diving. If you do go to Grand Cayman stay at the Westin- if you can't stay at the Westin- don't go to Grand Cayman. Its that important that you stay there. Seriously. If the weather is good, you will love it in Grand Cayman. You just might want to look into travel insurance (or go to Hawaii instead). I've been to Hawaii, Bermuda, Grand Cayman, London, and Paris- and Grand Cayman was my favorite for relaxing and enjoying my time with my soon-to-be wife at the time (I proposed on the Beach next to the Westin at sunset.......and got eaten alive by mesquitoes in the process).

David
