Have you thought of Antigua & I think either Blue Waters or Galley Bay would fit the bill. Both have excellent food, beach a little bigger at galley Bay,more places to walk around Galley bay,Galley Bay is more laid back , but both are in a beautiful setting. No children under 16 allowed at Galley bay, but didn't see any children when we stayed at Blue Waters. Let everyone know when you decide !!

Congradulations on your up comming wedding, in my opinion I think the Turks and Caicos Islands is the best thing going, I would not stay at the Turks and Caicos Club, it is not located in a very desireable part of the island, if you walk outside the resort it feels very unsafe and the service is not all that great, but I would stay at Point Grace or the Grace Bay Club, both will spoil you rotten!!! If you plan on disappearing for a day my advise is go with J&B Tours they are the best and will take very good care of you including picking you up at the hotel and if you do a private charter like we did they will pick you up and drop you off at the beach. We had a beautiful picnic right on the beach which they provided, it was completely private and so romantic. Good luck and happy nuptuals.

Anguilla is absolutely delightful. The weather is nice and the beaches beautiful. For our honeymoon, though, we opted for Hawaii. You really need almost 2 weeks to go there. We spend 2 nights in Honalullu (don't mind my spelling) and 5 nights in Maui and 5 nights in Kuai. It was absolutely wonderful. I plan to go back in a few years when we are able to take 2 weeks off in a row.

Hi,
have you looked at Laluna in Grenada, its small, 16 cottages, on a small very very quiet and secluded beach and yet only 1-2 miles from the other hotels and shops. There are many places to visit should you require if not then you will certainly get pampered at the hotel, they have some 40 staff.

I would be worried about the hurricane season. If you want to keep it safe, I would go to Hawaii. My honeymoon was at the Hyatt in both Maui and Kauai. If you want a luxurious resort and also seclusion, the Hyatt in Kauai should suit you. When we were there, we were told that the hotel was fully booked, but the hotel was so sprawled out that it was very quiet and sometimes even got the pool to ourselves!

Hello,
Just signed up and happened to come across your posting. One place you may want to consider if you have not yet done so is Beaches Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It is adults only, and very intimate. My wife and I went there last January and were completely impressed. We stayed in a Honeymoon Suite in the East wing. It was on the second floor and could not have been nicer. 4 poster mahogany bed, HUGE bathroom with double vanity marble sink, whirlpool tub and an approximately 10' x 6' open, tiled shower area. There are french doors which opened up to a fantastic balcony which was about 15' x 18' approximate. The balcony was covered, had recessed lights, a wet bar stocked with Johnny Walker, Tanqueray, etc. and brand new teak lounges with clean cushions. There is also a table for two and two chairs for eating on the balcony; we ordered room service on more than one occasion. The one thing my wife and I both loved was that the entire suite, including the balcony, bedroom and bath were richly tiled. This is a huge advantage over any carpeted surface, which inevitably gets musty & moldy in the humidity. As for the resort itself it was very relaxing and peaceful. There is only one pool with a large whirlpool but it was never crowded or busy. The beach is great, and is separated by a "pier" with a gazebo on the end which extends into the water. While we were there we never had any problems getting chairs, towels, a hobie cat, etc. The guys at the watersports desk are great and verty attentive. The waitstaff and bartenders are great as well. Beach and poolside service available. The restaurants were limited as compared to some of the larger properties but the food was excellent - all made to order. Also, one nice feature about staying at Beaches RP is that you are free to visit, dine, be active, at any of the neighboring Sandals properties as you wish but the other property guests cannot come to your resort. I would recommend a minimum stay of 5 nights; we came back thoroughly relaxed and at ease. I guess the only recommendation I would make (depending on how adventurous you both may be) is to take the shuttle flights to and from Montego Bay to the Boscobel Aerodrome. We took a shuttle bus to the resort (about an hour and a half) but enjoyed the 15 minute flight back. If you have any questions or would like to see some photos (we took plenty of digital pics) just let me know. Good luck!

When my husband and I went to Anguilla, we had a ball. One day we took a day excursion boat trip which included sun, swimming, lobster lunch. A day or 2 later, we bumped into the person who took us (a local) and he hung out with us, danced with me and bought us drinks. We had such a good time.
I loved Anguilla and I don't think anyone could go wrong, unless they want big nightlife to include gambling and lots of sightseeing.

Sorry, I forgot I already posted about Hawaii. If you have 1 week, anguilla, if you have 2, hawaii. My opinion.
I also forgot to mention I was in Cancun, Mexaco years back and came home sick as a dog. (I ate fruit there) I swore I'd never go back.

Hi , Majahuitas would be a great place , nothing but great reviews for both food and lodging . also look at Verana up from yelapa beach Verana has its own web site and is amazing . Kids are not quite as welcome here as they are at majahuitas . perhaps look at hotel desconodito , also in same area , beautiful, all little upscale boutique resorts . In Belize , Francis Ford Coppola has 2 beautiful reasonable resorts ; look at the site Unchartered Outposts . In Costa Rica there Villas Makanda , very nice . So many beautiful exotic places !!! and 10 days is probably best . Oh , Tiamo in the Bahamas could be an option also . Faith

The name of Coppolas lodge in Belize is Turtle Inn , it is on the beach and just for fun look at the rainforest one , Blancaneaux Lodge . Unchartered outposts site seems to be down . Also the people who run Majahuitas are very nice and will answer any and all questions .

Goes to show you how "informed" Kathaleen is: She fails to tell you about J&B's boat explosion last year in the Turks & Caicos which killed a very prominent developer from North Carolina. Major lawsuit pending. I wouldn't get any where near J&B and would stay away from her advise! Yikes!!!!
Kathaleen says: If you plan on disappearing for a day my advise is go with J&B Tours they are the best and will take very good care of you including picking you up at the hotel and if you do a private charter like we did they will pick you up and drop you off at the beach
