Narrow it down for us, plaes!
OK, we're thinking Jamaica, but its a big island, new to us and we need to find out the area that would suit us best.

Some clues: we like high-to-expensive, but to extortionate (if value for money, of course). Looking for not-overly-deveoloped, good restaurants, beaches and things to do (not hours away!).

In anticipation, we are grateful for advice from your expeiences of the island.

Look beyond the obvious. Consider a villa or estate rental for best roi.See www.jamaicaescapes.com for a selection, most off the beaten track yet accessible to diversions, restaurants, etc.Negril and Ocho Rios are overdeveloped, overtouristed.Boscobel,Orcabessa,Por t Maria ,Port Antonio and the South Coast will give you better sense of Jamaica.

Have you thought about renting a villa in St. John?? Beautiful views, beaches great food, casual, small island. (not much night life) It's not real developed. 2 resorts on the island Caneel and the Weston. You can see Villas on vivacations.com. We stayed at the Weston and a beautiful villa at Peter Bay. Coco de Mer. You fly to St. Thomas and Ferry to St. John.

Just there over Christmas in Montego Bay area (Rose Hall)- there are many resorts in this area with great golf. Ritz Carlton, Wyndham and Half Moon all within a 5 minute shuttle ride of each other. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Rose Hall-it was lovely
