Mill Resort?

Hi - I will be going to Aruba in January and was wondering if anyone had some MUST SEE or DO advice. I also am staying at the Mill Resort - can offer some feedback.

The Mill is not on the beach. They used to have beach rights with the Wyndham and you could just walk thru the Wyndham lobby but I think that now you can no longer walk through the Wyndham but have to go down the street and enter the beach area that way.

Mill has a beach which you access by going down a short walk across the street from the complex, it's a small beach but has chairs other amenities. Be aware that the Mill in recent years has become the hotel of choice for the Gay community. This is in no way a slam at them but there are some people out there who have parameters about where they want to stay so be informed

Although the Mill is not directly on the beach, it's a good choice if the price is right.

My favorite activities in Aruba were the sail/snorkel trips (there are many; we did Mi Dushi and Octopus); and swimming and snorkeling on our own at Baby Beach (east of San Nicolas).

A day of touring, either with a rented vehicle or guided tour, will also allow you to see Natural Bridge, Natural Pool (requires 4-wheel-drive), DePalm Island (good snorkeling), maybe some other spots.

There's also a fair amount of nightlife - Vegas-style shows at some of the bigger hotels/casinos; more trendy clubs in Oranjestad.

Loads of Aruba info at www.aruba-bb.com and www.visitaruba.com.

The people of Aruba are very nice and remarkably multilingual.

Restaurant you can't miss is EL GAUCHO in Oranjestat. Real authentic excellent mouth watering argentinian beef. Yummmmy!!!
Don't miss Baby Beach, rent a car and drive, get lost in Aruba. The island is so small you won't really get lost.
You haven't said how may days you are staying, but at least rent a car for 2 days (you can get great deals).
Also check out the natural bridge. It's not that big, but it certainly is magical.
The lighthouse is also nice, and they used to have an excellent restaurant there. I don't recall if it's still there.
La Cabana Casino, ususally offerds good nite shows. We saw a drag impersonator show that was wonderful. They had Carol Channing, Aretha Franklin, Cher, and others that were so uncanily alikes....

Enjoy. ARuba is the best and most special island of the ABC's.
Ana
Aruba is nice no matter where you stay. The mill is not on the beach, but who cares? Rent a car or jeep and explore the island. There are so many beaches, you will have plenty of opportunity to lounge on one of them. I love baby beach, rogers beach... Whatever you choose I am sure that you will love Aruba. It is not plush, it is just like the desert, but it is fun and the food is fantastic.

If you can, take a quick flight over to Bonaire and go to Klein Bonaire - totally deserted island you can take the seacow over and almost have the whole island to yourself!

Have fun!
