Low key hangout
Does anyone know of a place on New Providence where someone could stay that is fairly remote, but has a little low-key nightlife that locals and tourists both frequent?
I have been looking at the Orange Hill Beach Inn. The only thing it seems to lack is a little nightlife (maybe a local band).
Thanks for anyone's response!

Cissy,
New Providence is the Bahamian island that is home to Nassau. Nasssau apparently houses more than half of the Bahamian population. I have not been there as of yet, but I will be going in September. The island is does not seem to be known for its out of the way spots, but I'm hoping to find that at and around the Orange Hill Beach Inn.

Orange Hill is very cute, on the smallish side probably not more than 30 rooms and is sort of motelish. There are lovely grounds, nice pool area and right across the street from a beach area. The rooms are comfortable and you can get a refrigerator. The food is food and most meals are buffet, with a bahamian flavor.
I often stay there on my way over to Harbour Island so I can tell you that the owners, Judy and Danny will make you feel very much at home.
Orange Hill is a bus ride away from Cable Beach and downtown and is much more laid back and feels more like an outisland experience.
There is a small bar area where everyone gathers in the evening and there is a restaurant within walking distance that is good, and of course you can get a cab to Cable Beach or downtown at nite.
Have a great trip and enjoy the Bahamas.
