Will be staying in STT 3/24 thru 4/7 very interested in BVI day trips. We've let too much time go by, and don't have current passports, is that a problem? We cruised two years ago and have birth certificates with a raised seals, will that be enough? Where in BVI did you visit? What did you do? We like to snorkel. Would love to hear what you did. Thanks

We went with Limnos charters after several people on this board recommended them. We had a great time!(www.limnoscharters.com) You don't need your passport, just a certified copy of your birth certificate and a picture ID.

They took us to The Bath's on Virgin Gorda and to Norman Island to snorkel in two caves. One of the guys w/ Limnos fed the fish while we snorkeled around them. We got lots of awesome pictures close up. A baracuda showed up and we got to see it up close!

The Baths were beautiful. It is a must if you are going to do anything. I had a good friend recommend it and it was well worth our time.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

We stayed at Crystal Cove Villas on Sapphire Beach (not a resort), Wyndham Sugar Bay and Renaissance Grand Beach.

It's funny you should ask about safety. We did run into a problem and that is why we ended up at three different places. I would be happy to tell you what happened in our situation if you're interested. I wouldn't hesitate visiting St. Thomas again...but i will know what to be careful about next time i go.

Hard to imagine what kind of a problem would make one move x3 ... yes, please fill us in. Am very curious!! And if it is something you needed to be safer about, then why not share it so we can all be aware. If you don't want to post it, you can email me. Thanks.

The only reason we stayed at the third was b/c the Wyndham was full and didn't have a room available our last few nights.

We were downtown shopping and we were approached by a rep from Magen's Point Resort who talked us into touring the resort, hoping we would buy into the time share thing. We met a man at the resort (still don't know if he was employed there or not) who casually talked to us for a minute and went on his way. About 2 hours later, he showed up at our table while we were eating lunch downtown and sat down to talk to us. He just seemed strange, but we didn't think anything of it until he passed us again downtown an hour after that. To make this story short, this guy was following us and making it a bit too obvious. We flagged down a police officer who got us a cab and suggested we switch hotels. We did only b/c where we were staying had no security. We felt better after we were in a secure hotel. St. Thomas was awesome and we will definatly go back. This was our second time to visit. We don't get freaked out very easily, but this was just too weird!

Thanks for posting. Given the best case senerio, probably the person was just an aggressive time share seller - but can't blame you for being "safe" rather than taking the chance on being "sorry!" Thanks for posting. With all the t/s salespeople flocking about, it might be difficult to seperate the "legitimate" from those who are siezing an opportunity - I never thought about that!! Glad that it worked out and that you got to see three very different resorts while on island!!
And that it won't stop you from going back!
