Just my opinion...

It seems that there should be a separate board for "all-inclusives." It seems people either like them or hate them, so the posters for each are in 2 distinct brackets. Plus it would be nice to browse through the posts without every other one being about Sandals or Beaches. By the same token, it would also be nice to have one for weddings/honeymoons and so on. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that people can ask and answer questions here but I just think it would be nicer and more efficient to have them somewhat broken down, like the Aruba boards.

Just wanted to vent a little...thanks!

You seemed to be reading my mind - I agree. It seems every post is questions about AI's and Honeymoons. I don't know what has happened in the past few weeks to this board but it is making me bored. How many times can you discuss an AI? They are pretty much the same everywhere with slight differences, kinda like McDonalds. Either people are on vacation or have left this board completely, but it was different.

Sometimes people don't know what they want...which board would those people go to?

Sometimes people who were thinking AI change their minds when they discover the other options.

yes but then they would have one place to go to get all their info. And if they decide it's not for them, then they can jump to another board. The oriinal and second poster are right. This board seem to be over-run now with al questions. It's not as enjoyable or informative as it used to be.

Liza has a good point but I too am wearying of the posts that are drivelling on about AI's.

Heck, I saw one post the other day that wanted an AI for a honeymoon that would be 'a true island experience'. Holyjumpin'goldfish ! True Island Experience ? At an AI !?! Naah.

P.S. Anyone know where the origin of this new and sickly term 'weddingmoon' ?

I think half the traffic would go away if people just used the search facility at the top of the page. Think Fodors does all a disservice by not putting a little note there telling first-timers it's an easy way to get a quick answer.
That way we won't get a dozen "Help! Which Sandals?" posts a day.

It sounds like to me you guys just need to get over yourselves. This board isn't here for your pleasure only. It is also here for the people who enjoy AIs, Sandals and Beaches, and weddingmoons. It's a message board...a place where a lot of VARIOUS people come to talk and get information. And what if people don't care to do a search, they would like to hear comments for people who may have visited recently.

I'm sure you are the people that are always being rude to people you know nothing about that are just trying to find a little information. If you're bored, then move on. Go to a different board, or better yet....create your own!!

'Myopinion' certainly has a point. I don't begrudge people looking for recent information and updates on AI's. I am a bit narked by the ones who ask for 'Beaches' or whatever, when search would bring up exactly what they want, posted within the last several months.

And I don't think 'Myopinion' is right when he/she suggests that those who are tired of the repetitive AI posts are also the ones responsible for rude replies to the posters. Those people can't spell!

OK, so you want:
Caribbean: All Inclusive Board
Caribbean: Non-All-Inclusive Board
Caribbean: Weddings Board
Caribbean: Honeymoons Board
Caribbean: Etc., Board

Of course, we'd have to have that for every destination....wouldn't we? Pretty soon, just picking which board to go to will take 20 minutes!!! You know what people will do next don't you????....they'll just post the same question on every caribbean board in order to get their questions answered!!!
I honestly don't think I've heard of anything so dumb for quite some time!!

Sounds to me like you guys are just bored and spoiled brats who only want to talk about your particular interests!!! Get over yourselves! Skipping thru the current 50 message titles takes only seconds and you can quickly determine what subjects interest you. If you can't tell from the subject line, ignore it!!! It's time you all grew up a little and practiced some patience....pretty soon some subjects you're interested in will pop back up and you'll again be happy in your own limited little worlds!!! There's nothing more annoying than small minds with limited interests.
Great post "just my opinion".
I used to visit this board a lot more often but I get so tired of posts about Sandals and Beaches.

It's like people writing and asking "which Sears store is best in the city I'm vacationing in?"

Sears is Sears.
An AI is an AI.
Lots of similarities on many levels IMO.

Hi, so when someone new comes in and finds this site, other than asking a certain specific question, do they have to be concerned that everyone cant stand their topic??
WOW... I am new to Fodors and I have been picking differnt topics to click on, just to see how things work.
Someone, thank you for your common sense - its almost like, a person could be scared to ask something, since there seems to be so many negative response all the time.
I wont ask about an AL...I just wanted to post my thoughts.....

Agree, agree, agree!! I am so tired of slogging through all these endless questions and posts about AI's, Sandals, Breezes, Coouples etc. etc., when all I am looking for is information about certain islands and individual (i.e. non-inclusive, non-Sandals) hotels. So why not make a separate board for the all-inclusive crowd? And yes, the term "weddingmoon" makes me slightly nauseous, as well...

Everyone is sick of something everywhere. On the U.S. is it the endless Hawaii questions. So be it. I think the people should give the travel site a rest, maybe those people are on the site way to much. That is the problem. Perhaps other interests or addictions are in order. (No drugs please.) I also agree with Anon, wedding/moon is enough to make one throw up. Also "hubby" is dumb. Why would someone always call there husband "hubby". I don't see men calling there wives "wifey-poo."

Many of these repetive questions can be answered by doing a simple search and reading. If there is a more specific question that you need answered, then post a question. To post "Where's the Best" or "info on Sandals" is just plain lazy. These questions have been answered 100 times over. Do your research, then ask an "educated question", based on that research. Many people are just too lazy and expect others to do their work for them. The best thing to do is just do not reply to the broad question posts which can be answered by a simple search, and answer the more specific ones. We are all enabling these people to be lazy. If you do not answer the uneducated questions, they will be forced to do a search!

I am more than willing to give info, but I am getting tired of answering the same questions over and over.

Here's my 2 cents from someone who travels both ways depending on my needs/wants for a holiday - if you don't like it, go to another board OR create a new one.
These posts are redundant
