Jost Van Dyke for 2?

Husband and wife (50's) looking for a relaxing 6-7 day trip to relax and enjoy the weather. Never been to BVI / JVD but it looks interesting. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

JVD is a beautiful small island with wonderful beaches and a great beach bar scene. Great for relaxation. You may wish to consider Tortola -- easier access to other islands for great day trips including JVD. From Tortola you can take ferries to Virgin Gorda to see the Baths, great day sailing trips to JVD or other great snorkeling spots. Also has some nice beach bars, great beaches and good water-front dining.

Jost is a unique, small, friendly island. not much for entertainment..altough we have NEVER been bored. days are filled with glorious beach/kayaking/snorkeling. also can do a whole/half day snorkel/eco tour of the area waters ! we stay in white bay at sandcastles resort. imo...heaven. days are also occupied with the day tripers and all the goings on with the Soggy Dollar Bar on property. have met some really interesting/fun people...also some stupid drunk ones..they don't last long !! some great nights of laid back music/food/drink and dancing at foxys. Ivans, thurs night bbq is a must do..great food but better still the eclectic group who visit and music by Rueben Chinnery/ if lucky Ivan himself performs !!!( have stayed at Ivans in the past too) Jost doen't have any 5* amenities but to me it's a piece of paradise !!

I have been thinking about how to answer this question. JVD is my favorite place!! Mostly they have been day trips(which are a ball and never long enough) we always meet fun people at soggy dollar bar and foxy's.
This Jan. we stayed for 2 nights and it was great, spent more time at One Love Bar than Soggy dollar bar. There is not too much to do there(sometimes that is good). It depends what you are looking for. Sandcastles is often booked a year in advance, not sure if they close in the fall for a spell. You can check out Perfect Pineapple, they have cottages across the street behind Sandcastles, walking distance to White Bay.
