Island Vacation
My husband is having knee surgery in late January so I would like to plan 4 or 5 days doing nothing but relaxing on a beach and enjoying a nice dinner in the evening. Any suggestions? Flying from NJ. Aruba is too windy for me. Love T & C, but want to make sure weather/water is nice and warm. Never been to PR or CR. Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks!

If you don’t mind taking a connecting flight or ferry to reach your final destination consider going to Anguilla. The island boasts 35 spectacular white sand beaches and 80+ restaurants (some among the best in the Caribbean). Fly into St. Martin than it’s just a short 7 minute flight or 20 minute ferry ride from St. Martin.
Other suggestion, is fly directly to Grand Cayman - wonderful white sand beaches and plenty of great restaurants. Perfect place to relax.

Antigua, Barbados, Grenada would also be great islands (direct flights from JFK). They all have great beaches, Barbados has several good restaurants (eg the Cliff, Relais & Chateaux restaurant in Cobblers Cove hotel etc).
Anguilla is great, fabulous in fact. So is St Barths (again with a short flight from St Martin),in fact Grand Case in St Martin is great (have not been since the hurricane though) with many good restaurants within walking distance of hotels/apartments along Grand Case.
It's probably a very good time of year to go to Grand Cayman as it is extremely hot during other times of the year, 7mile beach is gorgeous.

For a four or five day trip, Puerto Rico might be a good choice for you. Nonstop flight from any of the NYC airports (assuming when you say Jersey, Newark, JFK and LaGuardia are options). Weather should be great (not dicey in January like Bahamas, etc).
