Ziana, sorry I am not familiar with Isla Solarte. Post this question on the Latin American board as there are several posters who live in Panama who may be able to help you out.
Buen viaje. Oh,if you go, post a report. I am curious now.

I've never heard of Isla Solare either. There is a group of islands in the Pacific off Panama called the Perlas, but I don't know their individual names. There is another beautiful island off Panama called Isla Coiba, but I wouldn't recommend it because it's a penal colony!! A Smithsonian researcher I know collected tropical birds there with another researcher named Gene Eiseman in the late 60's. The prisoners merely wandered around, and wouldn't try to swim to the shore due to a large number of sharks. It was a beautiful island, for Panama's prison population, but I wouldn't recommend that one. They got along OK with the researchers because they coveted their sneakers. Is Isla Solarte in the Caribbean or Pacific? Just curious. Robert

Isla Solarte is on the Atlantic side. Just a 'stone throw' from Isla Batimentos. Very little development. There is at least one resort, and maybe some condos going up. You would certainly be secluded, but only a short boat from from either Bastimentos or Bocas Town. One caveat, we were in Bocas last January and it rained the entire six days we were there......

If anyone checked this out, please, tell what do you think? Is trip there will be sort of 'to die of boredom' or could be suddently something to do there?
Thanks
