Is two weeks in St Lcia too long?
We are planning two weeks vacation in St. Lucia in December. Someone told us that there is not enogh to do for two weeks. We are the active outdoor people (hiking, snorkeling, birdwatching, etc.). We will stay in Ladera for four nights but looking for a couple other places to stay. We chose Ladera just to relax and because we read so many great reviews on this forum. What are your suggestions for people who like smaller, guiete places, and do not care about a nightlife? Is it possible to spend 3-4 days on some other island? Which one and how to get there from St.Lucia? Thank you

I have heard of people splitting their vacation on St. Lucia with either St. Vincent or Barbados. If you search old threads you may find information on transportation (I believe there are short flights). I think 7-10 days on St. Lucia would be great -- there is plenty to do to fill that amount of time -- but 2 weeks might be pushing it. Based on your description I think you will love St. Lucia and Ladera.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in St.Lucia last August/September. We were only there for one week which, at first, seemed long enough. At the end of our week, we were kicking ourselves for not having booked two weeks. The island is so large. You can do a lot of exploring on your own and/or through some of the available tours which should keep you busy for two weeks in addition to those days laying at the beach. We didn't even spend one day in Castries or Rodney Bay which we regret. After only one week, we feel like we didn't really see much of the island. We're definately planning to go back in the future. I highly recommend the Jeep Safari tour (ask to be put with tour guide Veejay) and eat at PizzaPizza in Reduit Beach (the best pizza I have ever eaten). As with any holiday - it's what you make of it. St.Lucia has lots to offer if you make the effort to explore it.

I just recently got back from my honeymoon in St. Lucia. We were there for 8 nights and it was not long enough for us. We stayed at Ladera for 5 nights and at the Hyatt for 3 nights. I think there would be plenty to do for 2 weeks if you are into quiet, eco-tourism. You can do a day trip to Martinque and St. Vincent.
