Is Bestfares.com Worth Joining For One Flight

Going to St. Thomas in Jan. 2002. The United Air flight we want is a little over $1000.00pp. Would it be worth the membership fee for that one flight. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It would help anybody wanting to reply if you said where you were flying from because 1000 pp from the US Mainland to STT seems extremely high unless you're doing an all-inclusive at one of the resorts. Just a suggestion.

Jessica, Your right I should have put that in. Flying out of Chicago O'Hare {ord} It's flight 877 on Jan. 5,2002 returning on Jan. 13,2002. It's not all inclusive, the cost of the flight is $1048.10pp. I can find cheaper flights connecting through San Juan but I'm being picky. The flight is direct and we will get to our Charter in Red Hook a little earlier & hopfully the whole day wont't be a loss. Thanks for the reply.

Doug

Hey Doug:

I assume you are talking about the direct United flight. I know those prices are outrageous.

We have flown Apple Vacations charter flights out of ORD direct to St. Thomas for $600. You might want to call an agent and look into an air-only package.

--Lara

Thanks Lara,

It's the United flight I'm interested in. Flight 877. Scheduling is perfect for us but price is awful. My travel agent says Apple is now monday to monday only. We've taken Apple in the past but monday to monday won't work. Is she right about monday to monday? Sounds odd.

Can fly AA for ALOT less but it arives to the Island later in the day via San Juan. Novice travelers, 2 adults & 2 older teens. I want an easy nobrainer. Our charter sailboat begins at noon on the 5th. Will I have to buck up & pay $1048.10pp if I insist on being this picky? Can anyone check that flight on bestfares.com for me?

Thanks Guys,

Doug

I joined bestfares for one-flight savings---last year in early March, non-stop to St. Thomas from Philadelphia, was $389pp I think...pretty good deal, they are not as good now as they used to be. Haven't used them since---you can find compareable fares at www.cheaptickets.com or www.lowestfare.com or www.1800airfare.com....good luck, don't miss St. John

Hey Pete, Thanks. The 1st night of our crewed charter will be off St.John. Where should we anchor? Off to the BVI the next day.

Doug
