Infant in Food, Diapers and Packing

Are there places for me to buy the things I need for my 7 month old daughter. We are staying at the Wyndam Rose Hall and Ritz Carlton can I get food, formula or diapers. Any other helpful hints for this first time mom are needed

I'd bring the formula - they do have it in JA but I have no idea what the prices are and the formulation might be different. Food - if you mean baby food I'd bring that too.

Diapers are around...but how much do you feel like taking vacation time to go to the supermarket? I'd carry it all with me.

If you do need a store, there's one in Ironshore, like a small version of a US market (maybe 15 mins or less from the hotels), and 2-3 open air markets in Montego Bay. The one in Ironshore caters mainly to the private villas in that area so has a lot of "US"-ish stuff.

our son is 4 now , but we took him travelling 1st time when he was 9 months (to Barbados) and then 2, 3 trips a year since , we always bring everything for him , food , medicin , diapers ,wet naps etc...you don't want to take your vacation time shopping for them , they cost more and not all brands available. One thing that is very helpful to move around is the umbrella stroller - airports , walking around town or at large spread out resorts...

i agree with the other two posters. we traveled to st. john with our son when he was 14 months old and we brought everything. it was annoying and heavy but we preferred to have everything on hand instead of going hunting for stuff for him during the vacation. have fun.

SuperPlus and the supermarket in the Westgate Shopping Plaza, MoBay stock many infant needs (Pampers, baby wipes, Similac/formula powder, Gerber products, oatmeal, Zwieback, arrowroot cookies,Lucozaid/Gatorade/fresh juices, bottled water, etc.) so you needn't lug a week's supply along. Check with your concierge at Ritz (e-mail your brand-name/size list down to see what you can avoid having to pack. Naseberries if fit when you on island, are great for teething babies. Banana and other porridges, blendered food
purees, infant mac n cheese, soups and broths would be easy for the hotel kitchens to whip up.
