Hotels in St. Thomas

Can someone recommend a really great hotel in St. Thomas?

I don't want to waste money, but we will only be there for 2 days, so we would like a really beautiful place and beach.

You can post here or e-mail me at [email protected]

Thanks!

The Ritz is the best on the island.

I would recommend the Wyndham Sugar Bay. It is an all-inclusive and is wonderful. The beach is kind of small. There are 3 interconnecting fresh water pools that are so refreshing! Breakfast buffet is out of this world, try the made to order omlets. My husband and I stayed there in May 99 and had the best time ever. Hope to return someday. I would ferry over to St. John for beautiful beaches (white sand and crystal clear water.)

The Ritz is definately a beautiful property - an Italian marble palace set back from the water with steps to the wonderful infinity pool, great views of STJ and a so-so beach! You might want to check out Frenchman's Reef but not my choice as it is "high rise" with the elevators to the pool area and a walk (or shuttle) to the okay beach at MorningStar or you can stay beachside at MorningStar. The "redo" there is lovely! The Ritz is out on quieter East End close to Red Hook for some dining, activity and the ferry dock and the Marriott is closer to Town with a ferry to Charlotte Amalie during the day! I would definately head to Secret Harbour rather than Sugar Bay but SHBR is more "caribb style" with beachfront units, a great restaurant on site, Blue Moon Cafe, and a lovely beach but not the same ambience/style as the Ritz!
