Honeymoon help... Please

I am looking for honeymoon help.
My fiancé and I are in need of help.....
We are planning our honeymoon the week after Thanksgiving. We would love a quiet place, out of the way, with a beautiful beach
We are older , but not too old, but want to stay away from the atmosphere of an AI. Those are fun, but we need quiet and together time.
I would love to find a boutique hotel with kitchenettes. We love to eat out, but also love to just chill and observe the beautiful world around us.
We love to snorkel, and he dives, but that is not a must.
Any assistance would be great!
We don't want to budget a lot. Probably keep it under 4000. We are flying out of DFW.
We have also been looking at cruises, but do not particularly care to use extra days for traveling.

Is your $4,000 just for hotel or does it also include airfare, food and activities. If it's just for hotel you'll be fine, If it's just for airfare and hotel you are probably going to have to make a few concession. If it's for airfare, hotel, food and activities then I'm sorry to say your budget is on the low side for what you are seeking and you will probably have to give up the seclusion you desire. Secluded resorts tend to be among the more expensive places to stay in the Caribbean.

Just so you know, flying from DFW to many Caribbean Islands can use up a substantial portion of your budget. Depending on the island R/T Coach airfares generally run between $550 and $700 per person to some of the larger islands like Puerto Rico or Jamaica and from around $750 to $900 per person to some of the medium size islands like St. Martin, St. Kitts or St. lucia. If you go to the smaller islands that require connecting flight R/T airfares can sometimes exceed $1,000 per person.

Now, if snorkeling and/or diving is a high priority consider the US Virgin islands, the British Virgin Islands, Grand Cayman as they offer some of the best snorkeling/diving in the Caribbean plus you'll find terrific beaches and plenty of hotel options to fit your budget.

You will get the biggest bang for your travel dollar in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and in Mexico (Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen) and those destinations have some of the lowest airfares but the trade off will be in the size of the resort and the extent of the snorkeling/diving opportunities. Still you should be able to find sveral resorts that meet most of your needs.

You might find what you are seeking with your budget in Belize or Roatan.

I thought $4000 sounded pretty good! You could fly directly to Puerto Rico and take a cruise for well within that budget,if you don't go too crazy with the bubbly!

Look for places with condo-hotels, where you can save money by fixing some meals in your kitchen. The week after Thanksgiving tends to be quiet anyway, so you are in luck there.

American is convenient for both Puerto Rico and St Thomas. For STT, you fly DFW-MIA-STT. For PR, it is a direct flight.

We live in Texas also and must fly to either Dallas or Houston to get our vacation started. We have done many non-AI vacations for 5 - 6 nights for around $3,000 for air and hotel only. We pay about $300 to $400 more for a vacation package due to air because of having to get to Dallas or Houston first. Going the first week of December is really one of the best times for lower prices. We usually go somewhere every year at that time.

Boutiques hotels with kitchenettes and have great snorkeling/diving, I would look at Turks and Caicos and Grand Cayman. Lots of nice condo units with kitchens/kitchenettes. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo in Curacao at the Lions Dive Resort. Aruba has condo timeshares that you can book also.

We live in TX as well and fly out of DFW. You might want to check out Roatan - West Bay beach area. The snorkeling/diving is fantastic and there are several lodging options that I think might meet your needs. Infinity Bay comes to mind. We spent the day there while on a cruise and I told my husband I could come back and stay a week! They have nice condo type rooms with kitchens yet there are lots of dining options nearby as well. I feel Roatan is magical! Happy Travels!

Thanks.
I have done a lot of searching today. I see we can go to the turks for around 3800 and stay in the beach houses.
Is anyone familiar with that hotel?
There were several cruises out of Miami cheaper, but to busy ports.
I have been to Mexico and dr so many I've I am done ...

I have to agree with the Sibbone. We stayed there on our vacation. The 2nd room floors have 2 rooms, but no kitchenettes, just a frig. They do have a beach front apartment you can rent with a kitchen in it. Our other choices was the Somerset and the Alexander. Those are both condo units with kitchens/etts.

Those 3 properties are located on one of the best spots of Grace Bay Beach.

No matter what hotel/condo you choose, difinetly budget for a rental car.
