Honeymoon HELP!!!!
Honeymoon March 10 ,2001
10 day stay
Budget(4,000-6,000)
Location-
Somewhere tropical 85-90 degrees (dry). Plenty of sandy beaches (un-crowded is a plus), warm clear water. Lush tropics and cliffs a bonus. A little off the beaten path (remote).
Resort/Hotel -
Nice....private, queen to king size bed with water (ocean/lagoon) views. Not to commercial. Also AC, refrigerator, fan in room Restaurants/bars, pools on premises. Definitely a SPA on the Premises (plus). Not real big on high-rises.
Activities (important)-
Snorkeling (local reefs), sailing, kayaking, scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking trails, hiking. Fishing, we like to fish. Charter a boat. Also rent a power boat and fishing poles of our own. Ability to rent a car/truck for a day or so to explore. Ability to take excursions (such as to other islands, beaches, parks, mountains).
Local Culture -
Pleasant/friendly local people and a safe feeling. Being able to go to the local town(s)to browse and shop.
Even though we are active.....we definitely need to relax as well. The atmosphere should be conducive to relaxation.

You might want to think about Turks and Cacios. Very quite island, beautiful water and lots of sailing, snorkeling and scuba. There are some very nice quite elegant resorts. But if you want a smallish not commercial resort you may not fine a Spa at the resort. Often they must be larger to support a full service on sight Spa. You should really work on getting your plans set, March is big spring travel for families and college kids. Air gets booked really early for the best places. Don't put off making the plans! Good luck and have fun

i recommend a private villa for the two of you - we used www.caribbeanway.com and found a beautiful one bedroom villa called La Perla on the island of St. Martin - we found it much more relaxing to be totally along - with private pool, private kitchen, private everything - and then all of the other amenities right next door that we could join if we wanted or we could just stay at the villa. I suggest you consider it ......

I am not certain that all of these things really exist at one place in the Caribbean at one time. You might take a serious look at the Kona Village in the big island in Hawaii. I think it is http://www.konavillage.com What you can do and see on the big island is amazing. Also it is not completely covered with tourists.

Hello
I would recommend the island of Bequia - part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It is small, not a major destination, friendly people, laid back, nice beaches, wonderful sailing, hills that make for nice scenery, good beaches, and diving/snorleking.

I honeymooned last May in St. Lucia. It's beautiful. If you do go there - take a look at resorts in the south. We stayed at the Jalousie Hilton. Breathtaking scenery. The north (Sandals) is flat and citylike. The south is lush and tropical - the Pitons (mountains) and the rainforest nearby. Gorgeous backdrop!!!

ARUBA fits all of your specifications! We went there on our honeymoon 5 years ago and we'll be going back next year. Great beaches, beautiful weather (if you don't mind the wind), people are the best, all water sports, restaurants galore, and we actually rented a tracker (4 wheel-drive) and went exploring. THAT was a blast! If you go, be sure to eat at Marina Pirata and party at Charlie's at least once!
Have fun wherever you go and congrats!
