Looking for advice from all of you experienced travelers! Plus I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the choices.

We would like to go to Jamaica sometime in January, 2002. Our budget is just over $3000 and we would like to stay for a week.

All inclusive, couples only, fun pool/bar areas but also relaxing area...

Which resort would you suggest - I really appreciate all your frank answers. Thanks everyone!!!!!

Only go to the Negril area. In Ocho you loose the sun on the beach by 4. In Negril you can see the most beautiful sunsets from your room(the sun sets just past 5:30). Most of the all-inclusives are at the north end of the 7-mile beach. The beach area is much better as you go towards town. We stay in small hotels and enjoy the company of the people that live there. We did tour Sandals 97, it looked good. Enjoy! Sun
p.s. beware of the sand-fleas after sunset on the beach!you will want to scratch your ankles off.

Sorry, I forgot some info that might be helpful. We are in our mid-twenties and this is our first marriage.
We were considering Couples Ocho Rios, what do you think. We also agree that maybe Negril might be more relaxing.

Try the Beaches Royal Plantation in Ochos Rios. It's very classy, has great service, and is very quiet, and romantic.

We have been too JAmaica several times and if you are a beach person, then I would personally look into resorts in Negril. It is considered to have some of the best beaches in the Caribbean - water is nice and calm, very clear and the most beautiful sunsets.

We really enjoyed both Grand Lido and Sandals there. The newer Rui Tropical has been very popular and has great write up's - also nicely priced.

Hello Autumn

I went to Couples Ocho Rios for my honeymoon, which was many years ago, and loved it. As well, my cousin went there this last March and raved about it as well. They chose Couples Ocho Rios over Sandals Dunns River. Couples offers a great mix of quiet relaxation and and excellent accommodation and tours.
They have a super web site. check it out.
