I would choose the first one.

I concur with Christie, I would choose the first one. It seems the first one you'll be spending more time at each of your destinations because some of them are quite close to each other so there's minimum travel time between the Virgin Islands. And then the second part of the first choice is also grouped together nicely. I may be wrong, but if you look at the second choice, they have you leaving in the afternoon each time probably because it takes longer to get from place to place. That being said, you really can't loose with either itinerary. They look like a lot of fun.

Are the islands similar from the aspect of being on a boat? In terms of beauty?
I may just flip a coin! I am leaning towards the first one myself, although I think the 2nd one is more exotic!

I've been to all the places, Anguilla, St. John's, Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda in 1 trip? What a dream!!!!
The first one is more upscale islands, with different personalities. The second one, although gorgeous, is more of the "same".
Anguilla has some of the best beaches in the world with blinding white sand and turqouise water, the best shopping in the Caribbean is St. Martin, and some of the best snorkeling would be St. John's. The boulders in Virgin gorda are spectacular, and the beach at Jost Van Dyke (White Grape Bay) is spectacular. St. Bart's is very Chic. St. Martin, Anguilla and St. Barts have the best restaurants in the Caribbean.
While the second cruise is nice, it doesn't go to the best places, ex, in the Grenadines doesn't go to Tobago Cays? Union instead of Palm Island? Barbados is huge, so hard to get much done in a day, Antigua is a nice island, but more forgetable than the first cruise's choices. Sorry, I have not been to St. Lucia.
I think the first cruise is ideal.

That first trip sounds fantastic! Who are you booking with? Sounds like something we would like to do. What a diversity of islands. Also like that you have more time at each stop.

I have never even thought about a cruise..but I must say that this one sounds good..only 100 passangers?That's great compared to thousands on a regular cruise.

My DH and I would not step one foot on a cruise ship, but this sounds like a great trip with so few passengers and a great itinerary.

If not doing a cruise but spending 10 days in the virgin islands, what would be the best intinerary.. St. Johns is a must for us.. but what else could be suggested. .time frame is Arrive sept 30 and leave Oct 11 or 12.

Guess I'm the contrarian on this one -- would pick #2 for a more interesting variety of islands. #1 tours islands
that are either prime shopping duty-free ports or, aside from some good snorkelling, with little to see elsewise on shore.

I would pick #1. The BVI are gorgeous. White Bay on JVD is the most amazing beach. Anguilla is my favorite caribbean island. I think if you are looking for amazing beaches you should go with #1.

Group 1 includes the islands I would like to stay on for a vacation. Group 2 includes the islands I would like to see, or visit short-term.

If I were checking for future stays, or didn't expect to get back to the Caribbean for many years to come, I'd pick Itin #1.

If I traveled the Carribean regularly, or wanted to see less popular islands that I wouldn't visit unless on a cruise, I'd go with #2.

Which yacht charter is this with? I agree with the others; it sounds great!

This is a tough decision. Both itineraries look good.

On #2, you'll be covering much of the Caribbean and will see a lot of islands as you cruise along. So, I would recommend that you consider how much time you want to spend cruising on the ship. I think this itinerary may give you more of a feel for the different islands.

Itinerary #1 covers relatively short distances between some of the islands, so you won't be cruising as much.

So it depends, is this your first trip to the Caribbean and do you think you'll go back?

Many years ago I took a cruise and enjoyed it enough to take one again the next year that went to different islands. That may be your best solution!!

You'll have a wonderful time no matter which trip you choose.

We are going on the Sea Dream Yacht Club.
And after much debate we have decided to go with itinerary #1. (Of course trying not to 2nd guess myself! I do enjoy just cruising and looking at the scenery, so #2 will hopefully be something we can do one day too.)
Have air into St. Thomas and out of St. Martin, now all we need is a hotel for one night on St. Thomas. Of course it is the Sat of Thanksgiving so a little challenging!
