ekjojo...A great site for St. Barts is stbartstalkonline.com. It is a wonderful group of people who really helped me plan our trip there last summer. The island is amazing and very beautiful.
I don't think that you will be disappointed.

Lisager15 - - I was reading over your message again and had a question about Coral Reef Club. The suites with pools look like they're nicer than Hermitage (except you don't get the great views).

Is Coral Reef Club comparable to Hermitage? I've read great reviews about it on this board and Trip Advisor. Only thing that sounded questionable was the beach washing away during the summer months. Any other thoughts on Coral Reef Club?

My husband and I stayed at Coral Reef Club a few years ago. We enjoyed our stay there but I have to admit that we were sorely disappointed in the beach at the resort. There is really not much of a beach to speak of, at least when we were there. We tended to pack up and go to Mullins Beach for the day or even to one of the beaches on the southern coast. You either need a car or taxi from the Coral Reef Club. There is not much that is walkable.

We've also stayed at Caneel Bay. The beaches are great but the rooms are not upscale at all. Perfectly nice and adequate but perhaps not what you are looking for on this trip.

St. Barts is great. As you already know Le Toiny is not on the beach. We stayed at Eden Rock, which IS right on St. Jean Beach. Gorgeous, gorgeous although it may not offer you the privacy you are looking for.

The beach at Coral Reef Club is very narrow and at times, there isn't one at all. The beach at Hermitage is beautiful for swimming and walking. I like the general laid back atmosphere at Hermitage vs. Coral Reef and would rank the service higher at Hermitage as well. As far as the generator noise, I never heard it! Take care, Lisa.
