Help me pick an island
My self and two other friends are looking into taking a trip for two weeks in May. We are all females in our twnties. Already been to Mexico a few time now we want to go somewhere in the Caibbean. Looking for a fun place, interested in activities during the day with a good night life. Interested in experiencing a new culture and don't want to go somewhere that has been Amerianized. Please help us make a decision!!
My advice: don't go to the U.S. Virgin Islands. One of the most interesting islands I've been (and I've been to quite a few) is Trinidad. Port of Spain is the capital and a cultural melting pot, with lots to do. I also liked Barbados (I went there last May). All of the islands I've been to have been interesting - be sure to rent a car and go off to find interesting places off the beaten path. Have fun.
Martha
Carrie: I usually suggest Aruba. It is safe, friendly, beautiful and has the bset weather year-round. It sounds like you are looking for something that isn't busy and with smaller crowds.

A couple come to mind: Eleuthera in the Bahamas, but this may not offer the nightlife that you seek; the second is the Turks and Caicos with pristine beaches and it is almost undiscovered.

Get a little info on them and see if it suits your needs. Good luck!
I agree with Cheri, St Martin/St Maarten is really a neat place. It is small enough to drive across to the other side for dinner if you want. Lots of choices, good nightlife. My daughter and her friends did Negril for Spring break. Her dad and I have been there AFTER Spring break. It is a Very Fun place. Small and easy going. Gorgeous beach, but the cliffs are a cool place to stay too. Good night life. Worst thing about it is a 2 hr ride from Montego Bay airport and back! But you don't need a car once you're there. Stay on the beach and you just use the beach as your "road" at night. Head for the live music of your choice.
I agree, St Martin is a good choice. Remember, if you want nite life stick with the more crowded and built up islands. Since you are going with friends I am assuming you want action and not a romantic quite island as if you were a couple. Martinique is another good one.
