Help!!-Have we chosen the wrong place to stay?
We have rented an apartment via VRBO in Puerta di Terra (near El Hamburger restaurant). Until today the reviews on the place were fine but now someone just posted a review that this area is terribly unsafe, gunshots, beggars, public housing etc. Can anyone weigh in on this? I don't want to regret this vacation.

This is in between Old San Juan and Condado. It is where the Caribe Hilton is located but away from the beach the area is fairly residential. Wouldn't be my choice of location. That being said, I can't comment pn whether it is unsafe.

It is a dump run down older area cancel if you can oherwise suck it up it is a lot like "Rum Dairies" movie go see that was filmed in that area.Prefer Marriott Stellaris great deals bidding discounters like priceline.com from $80/nt for me last.Tolerable though not like say Port Au Prince Haiti.
