Help for the Honeymooners!
We are planning a July honeymoon to the Caribbean. What we have in mind: blend of cuisine, beautiful beaches, hiking, AI(??),snorkeling/scuba, not overcrowded (esp. with kids), variety for nightlife, safe travel off resort and within our $$ range. We'll be staying 7-10 days and need to keep it under $2k. Leaning towards St. Kitts, T&C, Barbados. I know we might not be able to have it all, but anything close?

You will love the Bucuti Resort (www.bucuti.com) in Aruba. It's a small (only 63 rooms)European style resort, no kids, large beach, topless if you want. They have a honeymoon package that would be great. There are a wide variety of restaurants on the island so all inclusive isn't needed. It's a small island so everything is within an easy bus or taxi ride. There is hiking in the national park. Fantastic snorkeling/scuba diving at a ship wreck and coral reefs. The water is a beautiful clear turqoise, just the right temperature, etc. etc. The people there are great, they depend on tourism and right now are hurting for tourists, so they will bend over backwards to help you with anything you need. The island is perfectly safe at night, they know that any bad publicity will kill their tourism and they take crime seriously. The nightlife is mostly casinos and bars. I could go on and on. but check out www.visitaruba.com. There is a bulletin board and trip reports that will help you plan a wonderful honeymoon.

Tabitha,
We went on our Honeymoon in July to Aruba. At that time of year the wind is not as violent as some are saying. It could be that the winds are stronger at particular times of the year. In July the winds are stong enough to keep you cool (you wont feel it, but the sun is strong so wear sunscreen)but it was definatley not stinging. Aruba might not be the island for you, but just dont let the winds be your deciding factor. My honeymoon there was more perfect than I could have imagined. Feel free to email me.
Wherever you go have a great time!Congratulations!
