Yeah - anything really. Hotels, fine restaurants, pubs. Any night of the week. We live in Boston and there have been a lot of dining specials available recently, even at the best restaurants (probably because of the economic crisis), and I was wondering if there are any dining deals / drink specials to take advantage of when we are in Bermuda in July? We will be staying in hamilton for 3 nights (friday - sunday) then at horizons (near elbow beach) (monday and tuesday) night. Thanks!

There are lots of deals going on, early dining specials for instance, but they are changing weekly. You should have no problem finding things when you get here. Bermudiana Rd in Hamilton has a few wine bars that are always running specials. Also, Lemon Tree Cafe does a Friday night happy hour - usually snacks, good music, in the park - Hamilton Princess Hotel has a good Friday night happy hour as well. Horizons is walking distance to Elbow Beach Hotel, they usually do a salsa night in the summers, check out the website for that. If you like sushi, there's a great new place called Pearl, inside and upstairs at Port O' Call on Front St. Hope that helps.

Hi txgirlinbda - yes, that's helpful - thanks! We're looking forward to trying out, hopefully some fresh local cuisine. As I mentioned, we live in Boston, so we have our share of fancy restaurants. But, when we go away we try to find restaurants where the locals actually eat, and enjoy local foods / ingredients.

While you are in Hamilton, you might want to try the Lobster Pot on Bermudiana Road. Since insurance and banking are now the biggest industries in Bermuda (not tourism), Hamilton has taken on a more generic international feel. This extends to the restaurant scene as well. On our last trip, we enjoyed some great Italian food at Portfino's (also on Bermudiana Road).

If you really want local, one day when you're out and about, stop off at Specialty Inn. You'll find it at the Collector's Hill bus stop on bus route 1. (The drivers will stop where you want to go if you tell them when you board, so don't worry that you won't know where to get off.) Anyway, it's a little diner with take-out as well and good pizza. Peak meal times, it's packed -great place for breakfast or a burger. Good people watching.
My best friend swears by the food at the Beach - not to know it walking by, it's a bar on Front St. but evidently has a new chef/menu/whatever and she says it's really good. (We don't go because of the bar noise/smoke - we have a newborn.)
I'm not a huge fan of Lobster Pot (over-rated IMO), and I think the food is better at Trattoria in Washington Mall if you're after Italian.
And don't worry about not being able to find these places - it will be easy and make sense once you're here.
