Half Moon Resort

My wife and I are planning a vacation to Jamaica. Would appreciate any information on the Half Moon Resort (ie how does it compare to Sandals, how is the food, beach, service, rooms, many children, how far from Mo Bay, etc.)

Thanks

I was at Half Moon this year with 17 of my family members. We met lots of different types of travelers, families and couples. Since Sandals is couples only, Half Moon would be quite different and not all the guests are on an all-inclusive plan. It is a large property and very well kept with an emphasis on protecting the environment.

We stayed in the villas with a cook, maid and butler plus our own pool. I suggest getting some friends together and doing the same! It was great!!
The hotel rooms are scattered in several different clusters, but are very nice and easy to access all the restaurants and activities.

There are two lovely beaches at Half Moon, one with non-motorized sports by the main restaurant and lobby and the other with motorized water sports, but still quiet and peaceful.

Half Moon was a short ride from the airport.

There is also golf, an equestrian center, tennis, spa and shopping center on property. Overall we loved the upscale, yet laid back attitute at Half Moon and I highly recommend it.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Lauren

Hi, Jerry

When I was in Jamaica, my husband and I hooked up with a couple of locals who took us around the island. He was telling us that the Half Moon is an incredible property, where movie stars and singers seem to flock to. I'm betting it's a lot more elegant at the Half Moon...but also probably 3 times as much, anyway. Sandals is an excellent resort for a lot less money. Just something to think about if money's an issue. Anyway, you can't go wrong in either resort.
Hi Jerry, We have booked a 2 bedroom villa at Half Moon for Thanksgiving week. When do you plan to go? They put out a beautiful brochure and the site that Lynn mentioned is informative. We haven't been to Jamaica yet but we are looking forward to this trip (especially as we have gotten 72 inches of snow this winter and are looking at getting 12 more in the storm today) UUGHH!! Happy travels and if you go before we do I would like a trip report! Also go to the Jamaica section and type in Half Moon Resort in the find text place to get more info.
