Grandview Condos- Who's been there?
We are planning a vacation in July and are wondering if anyone has stayed at the Grandview condos. The pictures look good. How far is it to resaurants/ grocery store etc? Within walking distance or would we need a car? Any help is appreciated.

Mark - My family and I leave on the this Sat 6/18 and we are staying at the Grandview Condos for the first time. My travel agent has persoanlly stayed at these condos and says they are out of this world. You are within walking distance to the grocery store and George Town. I will post a message when we get back!

Mark, The Grandview Condos are first class all the way! They are only two years old and very well maintained. The staff is excellent, the view is great, you can snorkel right in front of condo,(need reef booties), just a short distance down the beach toward town is a ship wreck close to shore for snoekrling. We rented a car and I'm glad we did it was soooo very hot & humid that walking the 15 minutes to Kirks market is a real drag! To town is about 20 minutes walking - stay out of town when the cruise ships are in port toooo many people and not fun! Did the 4 1/2 hour morning lunch snorkel trip with Red Sail Sports from the Hyatt and would rate it excellent fun crew, excellent stingray experience and the lunch was decent. If you are a drinker bring what ever you can nice to have a reasonable drink at the condo before going to dinner. The pool aarea is very nice and not often used? Food & drink price very, very, expensive. Just around the from the condo (south towwraads town) is a small shopette that has a great coffee shop/bakery in it.We ate at The Warf , very good but very expensive, also at the Tree House also very good. Lone Star Bar & Grill excellent food at resaonable prices! The Brassire is another good dinner place upscale, pricey and off the beat'in track, many loacls. Near the Hospital in Crickett Square off Eglin Avenue. For Breakfast one morning we ate a cafe called Eats, right accross from The Hyatt. Great homestyle breakfast and reasonable. Take the ferry over to Rum Point, go early stay late, nothing to do but lay in the sun, snorkle, jet ski and drink in chest high 80 degree water! You can get a decent lunch at the little burger joint. <BR>Enjoy your trip - Hot & HUMID! Any other questions just e-mail. Irishflyfisher!

By the way I recently found another site that has lots of travel posts. It's called virtual tourist- www.virtualtourist.com . Take a look. There is some great information there, they have a great site. Thanks again. Mark
