Grand Caymanian Resort

I just got back from a week long stay at the Grand Caymanian. We stayed in a Grand Villa. It was absolutely amazing. The service was impeccable and the amenities were great. It is true you can't swim off their beach, but if you have a rental car the public beach is less than five minutes away. The pool is very nice. It is nice to be on the other side of the island away from the crowds. I would definitely stay there again.

We've been going to GC since 1993 and checked out the Grand Caymanian this past March - friends were staying there. It is a very lovely place and we would stay there in a minute. It's true that you can't swim off their beach. But, you are really so close to beaches and swimming in the Seven Mile Beach area that it really doesn't matter. You will need a car though to do this - or a taxi. We always rent a car. The rooms are lovely - clean, large, very well appointed. Very nice pool, snack bar. So, to sum it up - I think you'll be very happy there.

I agree! I'm headed there next spring. Grand Caymanian was one of 3 places on our prospect list, but I crossed it off after reading these posts. Thank you everyone! I would NOT be happy if I couldn't go in the water at my hotel.
So ... what can you tell me about Plantation Village vs. Morritt's??
Thanks to all who can respond!

Special to Sue,
It may worth your time to check out Regal Beach Condos. I booked thru caymanvacations.com. The place is great, the beach there is wonderful. Rooms are very nice. Only draw back is that it is next to the Marriott. I don't know if the beach has come back at the Marriott. Some of the Marriot crowd will put their stuff at the edge of Regal Beach property. We looked at Plantation and the beach there is not the best. If I remember Morritts is out in the boondocks. Good luck

Thanks Mark! I appreciate your help. The reason we picked the specific 3 is that we're considering a timeshare, and the 3 (Grand Caymanian, Morritts, & Plantation Village) offer timeshares. From what I'm hearing tho, sounds like we might as we just rent each year. None of the timeshare resorts sound that great.
Thanks for your tip - we'll check into it for April 2002!
