Sounds like Aruba is the choice for you.

For the kids,

Seaport Cinemas with the latest in American movies and it has 6 rooms.
Atlantis Submarine.
Adventure Golf home to Aruba's largest gaming arcade, miniature golf park and bumper and paddle boats.
Horse Back Riding.
Paintballing.
Eagle Bowling Palace.
Stardust Theatre show with the famous Adonis tiger.
Snorkeling at Sonesta Island, Baby Beach & Palm Island.
and a lots more other activities.

Aruba is a real family destination and its on the upscale side. The island is very safe, you can do beach walks or walk in town late at night without being bothered. Aruba is also home to over 100 outstanding restaurants reason why an all inclusive package is not recommendable on the island.

For info on Aruba visit the following sites.

www.arubatourism.com
www.aruba-bb.com
www.aruba.com
www.visitaruba.com

Ruth - We also loved Aruba with our 12 year old son. This year we are trying St. Lucia for a different experience. They have treks through a rainforest, a drive thru volcano, snorkeling, an old battle fort and a pirate ship from the miniseries "Roots" to take trips on.

Any Club Med with a Kid's program is an excellent family vacation. My kids still talk about it 8 years later. Club Med had a wonderful staff with a wide-range of activities like a circus, go-carting, diving, archery, games, special menu, etc. They met kids from all over the world. I would have to go find them at night and make them come back to the room so we could go to sleep. We have a ball, too. Fabulous food, people, staff, etc. Club meds are like summer camp for all. Summer rates are often half price. Look into it - it was worth every cent. I never had so much fun and felt my kids were safe and happy. What more could a worry-wort mother ask for?
Hi Ruth: LaCabana in Aruba would be a great spot. they have a great children's program. The rooms have kitchen facilities with separate bedrooms ect. There is a waterslide ect that the kids would love the minigolf is right across the road. Aruba is very family friendly.Karen
