Georgetown Store Hours
Can someone tell me what time the stores open on Monday and what time do they close on Saturday evening? Also, how far in advance do you need to get to the airport before your flight leaves on Cayman? I'm trying to determine if I will be able to shop on Monday morning before my flight departs at 2:15 pm.
Thanks!

You should be able to do a bit of shopping before you flight. We generally spend as much time in the sun and on the beach [or in the water] before we leave.
Get to the airport two hours before your flight home. I don't know which airline you are flying on, but this past weekend the line for US Air was hideously long. If you have not been to GC before, they often go through your luggage before letting you check in with your airline. This takes some time and does cause some back-ups.

One last thought on the shopping. Check the cruise ship schedule before you decide to go to Georgetown the day of your flight. If there are 3+ cruise ships in town, you may want to re-think your timing. People come off those boats like cattle being herded and it may make it difficult for you to see and go where you want to go.

Get to the airport at a minimum of 2 hours before your flight. Before you get to the ticket desk, you will have all your luggage searched individually. And the bonus is that some of the best shopping bargains on the island are in the airport duty-free area.

I checked with my husband and we arrived at GC airport approx. 90 minutes early. This was over president's week, but we had an early flight home. To be on the safe side be there by noon and then you'll have plenty of time to browse around the airport.

I was there a week and a half ago. Didn't have any problem getting through the airport. No hassles at all. Got there 2 hours early, had lunch, shopped, and still had to wait. We left on a Tuesday. Went to Georgetown before the flight. Yes, you do want to check how many cruise ships are in port that day! It does make a difference. You can get the schedule on-line with Grand Cayman Port Authority.

Not sure about the shopping, but we just came home from Grand Cayman on 5/12 and arrived at the airport exactly 2 hours early for our departure flight. We returned our rental car to Avis, walked over to the airport, and checked in for our flight on American within about 30 minutes total. They did go through our luggage very carefully, but luckily there was no line at the Avis or American counters so it was all very fast. I assume that the lines get longer as the departure time approaches so it's your call. We could've easily arrived slightly later (maybe 90 minutes ahead of time), but you just never know.
