We're going in March. We were in Aguilia a few years ago and stayed at the Sonesta which is no longer there.
Thank you

The reason I asked the question is that if you were going after 15 April I would recommend the Sun, Sea and Sand package where you get a full condo suite and it is a good deal. The deluxe and super deluxe suites are actually the second bedrooms of a two bedroom suite. Believe on the first floor they are all deluxe suites and have a walled patio for privacy hence no view. 5C and 6B on the second floor are Super deluxe suites. Large room with king sized bed and sitting area. Believe they all have coffee makers and mini fridges. 5C has a nice balcony with view. 6B has a partial view but no balcony you can sit on. Stayed in 6B one night when our flight out was canceled and have seen 5C which would be my first preference. Don't know if 6C is a super deluxe. It does have a balcony which looks inland. You might consider 7A which is a junior efficiency suite with kitchen, sitting/dining area and king sized bed. Small balcony with good view. Don't know how much more expensive it is. I guess the second bedroom of the penthouse 8B is a Super Deluxe but is more expensive. We will be staying in that in Feb. Frangipani is a really nice place to stay and think you will like it.

We've stayed in the junior suite (7A) & it is enormous compared to the rooms (it has a full kitchen & a dining area). In the off-season, the junior suite is only $5 a night more than the super deluxe room!!!

Thanks for you responses. I think Howard that you must have an interest in this place because I've seen you write about it before and know you really do like it. We did love the island when we were there and looking forward to it. the jr suite is $100 more in season so it is a big difference. I figure for the time we're in the room it isn't important. Just looking forward to the beach and some great meals.
Thanks again.

If you are infering that I have a financial interest in Frangipani it couldn't be further from the truth. I can't afford it and even if I could don't think it is a good investment. I don't want to tie myself to one island. This year we have been to St Lucia, Barbados, Turks and Caicos, (15th time) Vieques and Anguilla. Needless to say we have favorite places to stay on most islands. If you have read my Anguilla posts you will find that I have recommended other places to stay depending on what peoples needs and desires are. This forum isn't the only one I post on and not the best for Anguilla info. You will also note that we go to Anguilla in the off season when the rates are cheaper. If you are going to go with a deluxe suite ask if 6C on the second floor is a deluxe. Even though you have a balcony with an inland view it is better than the first floor with a walled patio.

Howard,

What's your favorite hotel/condo in St. Lucia? I was just looking at that island the other night and it looked like they cater to honeymooners.

Also curious which hotel in Barbados you like best. Have you ever gone to "Fathoms" for dinner in Barbados? It was my favorite restaurant, superb!

Sounds like you have quite a lifestyle having visited so many islands within the last year. Good for you!

All I have to say is retiremant is great. Re St Lucia--Don't have a favorite. We stayed at St James Club Morgan Bay which is an All Inclusive. All I really did was confirm why I hate all inclusives. Best part of the trip was coming home. If we wnet back would probably stay at Landera or Anse Chastinette. In Barbados we stayed at Coral Sands in Worthing. From 15 April the off season rate is $140 which is a good deal. Studio suite with kitchen. Beach very nice and not crowded. About a 10 min walk from St Lawrence Gap. Normally we don't like touristy islands with cruise ships etc--Bridgetown was a zoo-- but really enjoyed the trip and would go back. didn't try Fathoms but will put it on my list when we go back

I did not mean you had a financial interest , I just knew you really liked it. Thanks again for the info -I can't wait for my husband and I to go back. We have been to other islands too and usually like to try new ones but decided we would try Anguilia again. The people are very nice and the food good with great beaches.

Most web sites frown on posting competitors sites and will delete the post. If you e-mail me I will give you several Anguilla [email protected]
