Hi! I'm fine. Unfortunately not traveling anywhere nor planning a trip so I have not been on as much. Plus I have been super busy t work. But I do pop in now and then to answer quations when I can.
My next trip will probably not be until December 2005 for our 2nd anniversary. I am 8 weeks pregnant so the traveling will be put on hold for a while. But I can't wait to take baby on his/her first trip!!
Thanks for the concern!
Can't wait to read about your travels so I can live vicariously until I get to go again!

Well we didn't travel with Patrick until he was about 15 months (he's 2.5 years old now). We just didn't have the courage to travel with a little one early on. But I know a lot of people who do it with no problems.
We do take him everywhere now except on anniversary trips. We've tried to pick places where there wasn't much sightseeing to do (because we think that's a bit much for a little one) but then we didn't really do that. We've taken him to St. John, Puerto Rico and Mexico. And he did great on all those trips. He loves the beach. He wouldn't be our son if he didn't
I think the key is to start early so he or she gets used to traveling.
Can I recommend the greatest book? It's called "Baby Bargains" by Denise & Alan Fields. My husband found it at a bookstore in Maui when were pregnant. Every time a girl friend of mine has been pregnant, I buy them a copy and they have all told me what a godsend the book was!
The book is much more than what the title implies. You know how you go to Babies R Us (for example) and see about 50 different car seats? Which one to choose? This book will tell you which companies make the best/safest ones, which has had lots of recalls (so stay away from them), tells you which are the most or least expensive, etc.. The book will do the same for high chairs, strollers, etc...
It will really help guide you as you're registering for gift items.
Disclaimer: I'm not Denise Fields, or don't work for them or don't own stock with their company

Congratulations.
And I definitely concur with caribtraveler re Baby Bargains Book by Denise and Alan Fields. Great resource. Also, they have a terrific, insightful forum at http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php, which is the only forum that I frequent as much as fodors.
We have a six month old (our first) and can't wait to go on our first vacation with him (as well as our first trip to the Caribbean) to Turks and Caicos in December. I plan on giving a full report afterwards.
Another website that has tons of useful info in regards to traveling with babies (and everything else re babies) is babycenter.com.

Just a quick congratulations and seconding of the Baby Bargains book. I loved that it helped me to figure out what items were worth spending more on than others. For me, having a great stroller was key so I splurged there but saved a ton on the nursery decor b/c I just didn't care about that as much.
As for traveling, I haven't taken my 19 month old the Caribbean, and don't have an plans to do so at this time (we are going to Jamaica in January to celebrate 5th anniversary without our son). But, my son has traveled a lot, including a trip to Vegas at 5 weeks for my brother's wedding. As long as everyone is healthy, travel as early as possible, because it gets much more difficult when the little ones get older and become mobile. A three month old is as happy at home or on a plane or in a car or in a hotel. But a one year old wants to be running instead of in a car seat, and routine can be much more important. I'm not saying you can't travel with toddlers--obviously that isn't true and we do it, but infants are more portable!
Here is to a happy and healthy pregnancy for you!
